The present essay seeks to make a missiological inquiry into how to settle the century-old Israel-Palestine conflict. Its central thesis is that the conflict between Israel and Palestine cannot be solved only through international arbitration or statelevel and top-down peace negotiations. After all, multiple yearslong peace negotiations between Israel and Palestine in the past have not be able to bring about peace due to the many factors underlying this notorious conflict. The present article has set forth three supporting ideas that substantiate its thesis. Firstly, the many internationally mediated peace talks have thus not proved effective enough to secure peace for the peoples of the two nations. Secondly, even a great deal of state level peace negotiations between the two have not been productive due to the resistance of anti-peace talk hardliners in both states. Thirdly, serious attention is beginning to be paid to a third party(peaceloving intellectuals, artists, and NGOs) that may propel peaceful interaction between the two nations with bottom-up civic peacemaking efforts. It is the Church the Body of Christ that is being called upon to stimulate and encourage these regional bottom-up peacemaking enterprises and also to challenge the state of Israel and its people to make their country a blessing to its neighboring nations, Palestine included, in fulfilling the mission that God has granted Abraham and his descendants: to invite their neighboring peoples into God’s blessing by upholding righteousness and justice.
