The target of Korean society who will be transferred to super aging society is to establish local community-centered welfare system in the future. We can discover that regional services about the aged are fulfilled generally in the frame of welfare. In these welfare services for the aged, there are health, psychological treatment, and education. However, the problem is that independent studies and professional manpower training system are already existing fir nursing, psychological treatment, and education included to welfare service for the aged. If welfare includes and manages most of elderly service, it will be difficult to provide service of good quality to citizens. This thesis explains theoretically how elderly education and welfare for the aged should allocate their roles and be related under the background. First of all, it compares and analyzes concept of current elderly education and welfare for the aged as well as establishment and management of elderly education service and welfare service for the aged. In conclusion, it suggests diverse methods to allocate roles that elderly education and welfare for the aged by recognizing mutual professionalism and cooperate together.

초고령사회로 이행을 앞둔 한국사회는 향후 지역사회중심의 복지체계 구축을 목표로 하고 있다. 여기서 발견되는 점은 노인에 관한 지역차원의 서비스들이 전체적으로 복지의 프레임 속에서 움직이고 있다는 것이다. 이러한 노인복지서비스에는 보건과 심리치료, 그리고 교육 들이 포함되고 있다. 문제는 노인복지서비스가 포함하는 간호, 심리치료, 교육이 독자적인 학문과 전문인력양성체계가 이미 존재하고 있다는 사실이다. 우려되는 사항은 복지가 노인서비스의 대부분을 포괄하고 관리할 경우 시민들에게 양질의 서비스를 제공하기 어렵다는 것이다. 본 논문은 이러한 배경아래 노인교육과 노인복지가 어떻게 역할을 분담하고 어떻게 연계되어야 하는가를 이론적으로 규명한다. 우선 현재 노인교육과 노인복지의 개념, 노인교육서비스와 노인복지서비스가 어떻게 구축되어 운영되고 있는지를 비교분석한다. 결론적으로 노인교육과 노인복지가 서로의 영역의 전문성을 인정하는 역할분담이 어떻게 가능한지, 어떻게 협력할 수 있는지에 대한 다양한 방안들이 제시된다.
