Since the familiar object is no longer fresh, it does not give much inspiration and feels bored. The object is becoming too familiar to have a perception of it. This phenomenon is called “Automatism” or “Habitualization” of Perception. Automatisim and habitualization of perception disturb the ability to recognize objects, and preaching is no exception. When a preacher reads and interprets the Bible Text, delivers a sermon, meets congregation for preaching and congregation listens to preaching, automatisim and habitualization of perception occur. Especially, through refreshing preaching, New Homiletics has tried to overcome automatisim and habitualization of perception when congregation hear a sermon. Although various ideas have been suggested for refreshing preaching and overcoming boring preaching in New Homiletics, these have limitation to have only focused on preaching forms and methods. Here, the writer suggests that the content of the preaching can help to overcome the automatisim and habitualization of perception. The Gospel and the Bible, the sources of preaching, are strange and mysterious, and not in line with normal human perception. When preaching reveals the true meaning of the Word of God, automatisim and habitualization of perception can be overcome. For this, the writer suggests that preacher seeks legitimate ad faithful interpreting of the Bible and the working the Holy Spirit.

익숙해진 대상은 더 이상 새롭지 않으므로, 별다른 감흥을 주지 못하 고 식상하게 느껴지게 되고, 더 이상 우리의 인식을 자극하지 못한다. 이런 현상을 인식(Perception)에서의“자동화(Automatism)”혹은“습 관화(Habitualization)”라고 부른다. 인식의 자동화, 습관화는 어떤 대 상에 대한 인식을 방해하고 왜곡시키는 문제를 가져온다. 설교도 인식 의 자동화, 습관화의 문제에서 예외일 수 없다. 설교자가 성경 본문을 대할 때, 설교할 때, 청중을 대할 때 그리고 청중이 설교를 들을 때, 인 식의 자동화 습관화는 발생한다. 신설교학은 청중이 설교를 들을 때 발 생하는 인식의 자동화 습관화를 설교를 새롭게 하려는 노력들로 극복 하고자 했다. 신설교학에서 설교를 새롭게 하고 설교의 지루함의 문제 를 해결하기 위해서 다양한 방법들이 제안되어왔지만 이런 노력들은 지나치게 설교 형식과 방법에 집중해 왔다는 한계를 가진다. 본 글에서 필자는 설교의 내용도 인식의 자동화, 습관화를 극복할 수 있는 좋은 대안임을 제안한다. 설교의 원천으로서의 성경 그리고 복음 은 늘 새롭고 신비로운 특징을 가진다. 설교가 이런 복음의 신비를 제 대로 담아낼 때 설교에서 나타날 수 있는 인식의 자동화, 습관화는 극복될 수 있다. 이를 위해서 필자는 설교자는 올바른 해석과 성령의 임 재를 추구를 제언한다.
