There were geopolitical and cultural-historic characteristics that pre-modern East Asia was consisted of the area which China locates the center of and the peripheral part. It is needless to say that their relations had often changed by the political and cultural relationship , or the historical and geographical factors. Especially Korea-which has been located in the east end of the Asian Continent and keeping its own aesthetic consciousness and the standard of conduct while being influenced by political situation of China Empire- and Japan -which have had no major influence by the tributary system as it has been the insular country- have been constructed their own cultural system while making choices of central cultures. In this paper, 1 show the process that Landscape painting, which are characteristic genre of the paintings in the East Asia and the cultural activity, developed independently in Japan and Korea while focusing on the cultural-historic relationships between central and peripheral parts. Also. 1 make positions of Mt. Fuji and Mt. Kumgang which shows mentalities of Korean and J apanese as the icons of both communities. Finally, 1 discuss how they functioned on the Korean envoys to Japan as the good-neighbor policy.

전근대 동아시아는 중국이 중심이 되는 지역과 주변 지역으로 이루어진 지정학적 · 문화적 • 역사적 특성이 있었다. 그들의 관계 가 종종 정치적 · 문화적 관계 또는 역사적 · 지리적 요인에 의해 변했다는 것은 말할 필요도 없다. 특히 아시아 대륙의 동쪽 끝에 위치하여 중화 제국과 일본의 정치적 상황에 영향을 받으면서 스 스로의 미의식과 행동규범을 지켜옹 조선은 지류 체제에 큰 영향 을 받지 않은 중앙 문화를 선택하면서 독자적인 문화 시스템을 구 축하였다. 본 논문에서는 동아시아 회화와 문화 활동의 특정적 장르인 산 수화가 중심부와 주변부의 문화사적 관계에 초점을 맞추면서 일본 과 한국에서 독자적으로 발전한 과정을 보여준다. 또한 한국과 일 본 두 공동체의 아이콘으로 보이는 후지산과 금강산의 지위를 확 인하였다. 마지막으로， 그것들이 선린 외교의 장에서 일본에 주재하는 한국 사절들에게 어떻게 기능했는지 논의하였다.
