This study examines that the records of 605 people belonging to the Chosun Miin Bogam(朝鮮美人寶鑑) published by the Chosun Research Society in 1918 are self-introductions written by Yegi(藝 妓) himself. In the preceding study, it was considered to have been written by Songwook Ji, who ran Shinguseorim, and published by Kotaro Aoyanagi, president of Kyungsung Newspaper. Looking at the actual Chosun Miin Bogam(朝鮮美人寶鑑), I think it is reasonable to see Ji Song-wook who sent a photo of herself along with an Yegi(藝妓) that introduces herself, and collected and edited it. Considering the fact that there are too few anticipations of the Pyongyang Gisaengs Association, and the Jinju Gisaengs Association was not described at all, it is reasoned that this is rather valid. The Yegi(藝妓) describe themselves, but they write down the history, hometown, skills, appearance, and personality that became parasitic, but not all of them are described in common. In the case of poems introducing Yegi(藝妓), the variety of poems ranging from high-level to plain narrative supports this view. In addition, it can be seen that the self-introductions of the Yegi(藝妓) are in context with the lamentations of the folk songs.

본 연구는 1918년에 조선연구회에서 간행한 조선미인보감에 소속된 605명의 예기 에 대한 기록이 예기 스스로가 작성한 자기소개서임을 살핀 글이다. 선행연구에서는 신구 서림을 운영했던 지송욱에 의해 작성되고 경성신문사 사장 아오야나기 고타로에 의해 발 간된 것으로 보았다. 실제 조선미인보감을 살펴보면, 예기 스스로 자신을 소개하는 글과 함께 자신의 사진을 보내고 이를 수집 정리해서 편집한 이를 지송욱으로 보는 것이 타당하 다고 생각한다. 이는 평양기생조합에 대한 예기가 너무 적게 수록되었으며, 진주기생조합 의 경우는 아예 서술되지 않았던 점 등을 고려해볼 때 도리어 타당하다는 추론이 나온다. 예기들은 자신들을 서술하는데 기생이 된 내력, 고향, 기예, 외모, 성격 등을 적고 있으나 모두 공통적으로 서술되지는 않으며, 예기들을 소개하는 시가의 경우 수준 높은 것에서부 터 평범한 서술까지 다양했던 점은 이러한 시각을 뒷받침한다. 또한 예기들의 자기소개서 는 민요의 유희요(遊戲謠)와 맥락이 닿아 있음을 알 수 있다.
