The purpose of this study is to introduce science and technology into the probation service and suggest ways to utilize it in order to secure the efficiency of the recent probation service and meet the increasing demand for probation. To this end, cases of using science and technology in overseas probation work were identified, and the status analysis for strategic management of probation work was conducted, and a method of applying science and technology suitable for domestic probation work was suggested. Also, based on the results of interviews with experts related to probation and AHP analysis, policy recommendations were made on the direction of introduction and utilization of science and technology in probation work. The policy recommendations are: first, establishing an infrastructure capable of proactive response to recidivism by using big data, second, making the organization permanent to prepare a plan for using big data, and third, managing and supervising the subject of probation through Memorandum Of Understanding.

이 연구는 보호관찰업무의 효율성을 확보하고 증가하는 보호관찰 수요를 충족시키 기 위해 보호관찰업무에 과학기술을 도입하고 그 활용방안을 제시하는 것을 목적으 로 한다. 이를 위해 국외 보호관찰업무에 과학기술을 활용한 사례를 확인하고, 보호 관찰업무의 전략적 관리를 위한 현황 분석을 하여 국내 보호관찰업무에 맞는 과학기 술 적용방안을 제시하였다. 또한 보호관찰업무 관련 전문가 인터뷰 및 AHP 분석 결 과를 바탕으로 보호관찰업무에 과학기술의 도입 및 활용방안의 방향성에 대한 정책 적 제언을 하였다. 그 정책적 제언은 첫째, 빅데이터를 활용하여 재범에 대한 사전적 대응이 가능한 인프라 구축, 둘째, 빅데이터 활용 방안 마련을 위한 조직의 상설화, 셋째, 업무협약 등으로 보호관찰대상자에 대한 관리・감독 방안 다양화이다.
