During the Goryeo Dynasty， the Eum-chan Poem is a four-rhyme poem written by a civil official, which has the attribute of official document. They were used in important Buddhist activities hosted by the king. The creation and use of the Eum-chan Poem continued for centuries, until the fall of the Goryeo Dynasty. Through our collection and sorting of the Eum-chan Poem currently in existence, combined with the historical events reflected in the poems and related information of the author, we believe that the Eum-chan Poem is unique. This type of poetry has always adhered to its own artistic style and has not changed for a long time. As an official document of the government, Eum-chan Poem has a fixed paradigm. In terms of content and thought, the Eum-chan Poem is mainly based on praising the Buddha, praising the king, protecting the country and defending the enemy, and eliminating disasters and praying for good luck. In the pursuit of artistic aesthetics, Eum-chan Poem embodies the beauty of solemn and grand.

음찬시(音讚詩)는 고려왕조 시기 왕권 주도하의 불사(佛事) 행사에서 문신(文臣)이 응제 (應製)한 사운공문시(四韻公文詩)를 일컫는다. 음찬시의 창작과 활용은 몇 세기에 거쳐 그 명 맥을 이어오다가, 고려 왕조의 멸망과 더불어 역사의 무대에서 사라지게 된다. 현존하고 있는 음찬시들을 수집․정리한 뒤, 시에서 반영한 역사 사건과 저자 관련 정보를 결합해 살펴보면 음찬시는 독자적인 풍격을 띄고 있고 시종일관의 예술성을 추구하고 있음을 알 수 있다. 관가 의 공문으로써 음찬시는 고정적인 틀을 갖추고 있다. 이런 틀은 당시 많은 이의 관심을 받았 고 나아가 연구 대상이 되었다. 사상과 내용에 있어, 부처를 찬미하고 왕을 칭송하며(讚佛頌 王)〮․나라를 지키고 외세의 침략에 맞서며(護國禦敵)〮․재앙을 물리치고 복을 빎(禳災祈福) 이 주를 이루고, 미학적 특징에 있어서는 장엄하고 굉대한 아름다움을 구현한다.
