[Purpose] This study aims to suggest a theoretical method for the popularization of golf by examining the role and aimed value of screen golf clubs in the process of entering golf events. [Method] To derive the results, 12 subjects were selected from three screen golf clubs in Seoul and Gyeonggi using the snowball sampling method from August 2019 to August 2020. The data were analyzed using the domain analysis and classification analysis among the folklore research methods of Spradley (1980). [Result] According to the findings of the research, first, the screen golf club aims for the value of challenge and realization, breaks down barriers to entry into golf, plays a role as a stepping stone for a golfer, and plays a role in creating goals and passion for golf. Second, the screen golf club aims for the value of cooperation and sharing, and plays the role in providing a place for information utilization, in improving leisure identity, and in offering a new life space. Third, the screen golf club aims for its value as a sports culture capital and plays the role of attractive capital and cultural surrogate satisfaction. [Conclusion] The findings of this study suggest that the screen golf club can be a method for expanding the base of golf by providing positive values and roles that help golf participation.

[목적] 이 연구는 골프종목을 진입하는 과정에서 스크린골프 동호회가 가진 역할과 지향가치에 알아봄으로써 골프의 대중화를 위한 이론적 방법을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 하고 있다. [방법] 결과 도출을 위해 2019년 8월부터 2020년 8월 까지 눈덩이식표집방법을 사용하여 서울·경기 지역 스크린골프 동호회 3곳에서 12명의 연구 참여자를 선정하 였으며, Spradley(1980)의 민속학적 연구방법 중 영역분석, 분류분석을 통해 자료를 분석하였다. [결과] 도출된 결과 를 살펴보면 첫째, 스크린골프 동호회는 도전과 실현의 가치를 지향하며 골프에 대한 진입장벽을 무너트리고, 골퍼 로서의 징검다리 역할과 골프에 대한 목표와 열정 만드는 역할을 한다. 둘째, 스크린골프 동호회는 협력과 공유의 가 치를 지향하며 정보활용의 장, 여가정체성 향상, 새로운 삶의 공간의 역할을 한다. 셋째 스크린골프 동호회는 스포츠 문화 자본으로서의 가치를 지향하며 매력자본과 문화적 대리만족의 역할을 한다. [결론] 스크린골프 동호회는 골프 참여를 돕는 긍정적 가치와 역할을 제공함으로써 골프 저변확대를 위한 방법이 될 수 있다는 점을 시사해 주고 있다.
