The Trial Decision of the case of Koo-Yong Jeong was recorded by Daegu Court of the Review under the Court of Governor General of Korea. This document is the appellate judgement of Koo-Yong Jeong's involvement in Beopjeongsa anti-Japanese movement in Jeju. This paper analyzes the whole contents of The Trial Decision of the case of Koo-Yong Jeong; the personal information of the accused, texts of judicial decision, reasons for decision, laws concerned with the case, and full bench of trial. The Trial Decision of the case of Koo-Yong Jeong includes the detailed information of Beopjeongsa anti-Japanese movement in Jeju; main purposes and premeditated plans of the movement, list of participants, and the progress and consequence of the movement including penalties of accused and related laws. Beopjeongsa anti-Japanese movement was the resistance movement against Japanese colonial regime for restoring national sovereignty of Korea in Jeju area. Monks of Beopjeongsa and local residents plotted the movement with preparing the movement manifesto, weapons, and planned the composition of organization. According to The Trial Decision of the case of Koo-Yong Jeong, after the activist group left from Beopjeongsa at the dawn on October 7th, 1918, they cut down the electric wires and poles, and carried out arson attack on the police station at Jungmun-ri afterwards. This paper analyze The Trial Decision of the case of Koo-Yong Jeong referencing the format of trial decision on the criminal case. 조선총독부재판소 대구복심법원 생산 문서인 ｢정구용 판결문｣은 제주법정사항일운동에 참여한 정구용의 항소심 판결문이다. 본고는 ｢정구용 판결문｣의 판결 당사자 표시, 판결의 주문(主文), 이유(理由), 적용 법률, 재판부 표시 등의 형사사건 판결문 구성 형식을 따라가며 기록 내용 전체를 살폈다. ｢정구용 판결문｣에는 제주법정사항일운동 거사의 목적과 사전 계획 및 참여자, 거사 진행 상황, 적용 법률 등까지 기록되어 있다. 제주법정사항일운동은 제주도내에서 일본인을 쫓아내어 국권을 회복하기 위해 거사를 일으켰으며 법정사 거주 승려들은 지역주민들과 함께 거사를 위해 사전에 무기와 격문, 조직 구성 등을 준비하였다. 1918년 10월 7일 새벽 법정사를 출발하여 전선과 전주를 절단하고 일본인을 구타하였고 중문리 경찰관 주재소를 방화하였던 항일운동임이 기록된 문서이다. 본 고는 정구용 관련 다른 법정 문서인 ｢정구용 재소자신분카드｣, ｢형사사건부｣, ｢수형인명부｣ 등의 내용과 비교 검토하여 ｢정구용 판결문｣의 사료 가치를 다시 한번 재조명하였다. ｢정구용 판결문｣은 제주법정사항일운동의 전모를 기록한 문서로는 독보적이라 할만하며 다른 기록들과 비교하여 교차 확인되는 점과 새롭게 밝혀지는 점 등을 정리하였다.
