This study aims to explore the relationships between policy of filial piety(HYO) Encouragement and Aid And Social Welfare Policy for Elder. For this purpose, to define the filial piety(HYO) and classify that behavior is examined at first. And then, identified the relationships for the policy of filial piety(HYO) encouragement and aid and the social welfare policies for elder respectively. Results show that the relationships are complemental for each other. Implications for this study is to provide the basic research data for additional suggestions for improvements of the policy of filial piety(HYO) encouragement and aid which are related with the social welfare policies for elder, with additions for past ones. And suggested the future study for in the basis of contemporary meanings & directions of the filial piety(HYO).

본 연구는 효행장려 및 지원에 관한 법률과 기존에 노인복지 관련 정책과 간의 관계 를 탐색적으로 확인하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 먼저, 효의 개념과 효행의 범위를 분류하였고, 둘째, 효행장려법의 주요 법 규정과 노인복지 관련 법령을 각각 검토하 여 그 관련성이 있는지를 검토하였다. 그 결과 효행장려 및 지원정책과 노인복지 관련 정책 간의 관계는 서로 보충적인 관계를 갖는 것으로 나타남을 확인하였다. 본 연구를 통해 그동안 제기되어 온 효행장려 및 지원 정책에 대한 개선방안들에 더해 관련 정책 인 노인복지정책과의 관련성을 바탕으로 하는 개선방안을 제공하는 데에 있어서 기초자 료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대한다. 또한 향후 전통적인 효와 효행의 개념과 구분하 여 현대적 의미의 효와 효행을 바탕으로 양자 간의 관계를 확인하고 그 의미와 방향성 을 제안하였다.
