This thesis aims to introduce the new Korean version of in the series to the academic world for the first time and to reveal its narrative characteristics. As a result of examining the contrast between and , which showed considerable affinity, this version showed the characteristics of emphasizing the aspect of Lee Jangbaek's noble man character and loyalty. On the other hand, it turned out that the interest in Gyesoje was relatively insignificant. A similar context could be sensed through the characteristics of the ending. While expanded interest to Hong Eonsoon's wife, children, descendants, friends, etc. showed consistent interest in The heroic aspect of Lee Jangbaek. is a good example of the characteristics of . However, the newly introduced contained the characteristics of and maintained the narrative centered on ‘Leejangbaek’ consistently. Through this, it was possible to confirm the aspect that newly inherited the characteristics of 洪純彦逸話, which was intended to emphasize the righteousness of the male protagonist. With the discovery of this version, the number of version in became a total of 7 types. A comprehensive review of this will be left behind.

이 논문은 <이장백전> 계열의 새 한글본 이본 <계황비보은록>을 학계에 처음 소개하고 그 서사적 특징을 밝히는 것을 목적으로 하였다. <계황비보은록>과 상당한 친연성을 보이는 이본 <계씨보은록>을 대 비해서 고찰해본 결과, 이 이본은 이장백의 君子로서의 면모, 충신의 면 모를 강조하는 특징을 보였다. 반면 계소저에 대해서는 상대적으로 그 관심이 미미했음이 드러났다. 결말부의 특징을 통해서도 이와 유사한 맥락을 감지할 수 있었는데, <계씨보은록>이 홍언순의 부인, 자식, 후 손, 친구 등 그 주변으로 관심을 확장하는 데 비해 <계황비보은록>은 이장백의 영웅적 면모에 일관된 관심을 보여 줬다. <계씨보은록>은 <이장백전> 계열의 특성을 잘 보여주는 이본이다. 그런데 이번에 새롭 게 소개하는 <계황비보은록>은 이러한 <계씨보은록>의 특징을 담고 있으면서도 ‘이장백’ 중심의 서사를 일관되게 유지하고 있었다. 이를 통 해 <계황비보은록>이 남성주인공의 義氣를 강조하고자 했던 洪純彦逸 話의 특징을 새롭게 계승한 면모를 확인할 수 있었다. 이 이본의 발견으 로 <이장백전>의 이본은 총 7종이 되었다. 이에 대한 종합적 고찰은 후고로 남기고자 한다.
