This study was conducted for the purpose of analyzing the operational efficiency of sports clubs in cities and provinces by applying the data envelope analysis model. For the purpose of this study, the budget, number of team registrations, number of player registrations, and number of medals and scores of national sports competitions were used as research data for 2016, 2017, and 2018. In addition, in order to analyze the efficiency, input variables were selected as budget, team registration number, player registration number, and output variables were applied to the number of medals and overall ranking points for each city/province sports event. Data processing was performed using the DEA analysis program EMS 1.3. The conclusion of this study is as follows. First, as a result of conducting an analysis of the operational efficiency of city and provincial sports association from 2016 to 2018, it was found that Gyeonggi-do region has the highest efficiency among the 17 city and provincial sports associations. Sejong Special Self-Governing Province has the second highest efficiency, followed by Chungcheongbuk-do Province. n 2018, the efficiency index was the highest in Gyeonggi Province, followed by Sejong Special Self-Governing Province in the second, and Seoul Metropolitan City in the third.

이 연구는 자료포락분석 모형을 적용하여 시･도 체육회 운영 효율성 분석하기 위한 목적으로 수행되었다. 이 연구 의 목적을 위해 2016년, 2017년, 2018년에 대한 17개 시ㆍ도 체육회의 예산, 팀 등록 수, 선수등록 수, 전국체육대회 메달 수와 점수를 연구자료로 활용하였다. 또한 효율성을 분석하기 위해 투입(input) 변인은 예산, 팀 등록 수, 선수 등록 수로 선정하였으며, 산출(output)변인은 시․도 체육회별 메달 수와 종합순위 점수를 적용하였다. 자료처리는 DEA 분석 프로 그램 EMS 1.3을 활용하여 효율성분석을 수행하였다. 이에 따른 연구 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 2016~2018년 시․도체육 회 운영 효율성 분석을 실시한 결과 경기도 지역이 17개 시ㆍ도체육회 중 가장 높은 효율성을 지닌 것으로 나타났다. 두 번째로는 세종특별자치도가 높은 것으로 나타났으며, 세 번째는 서울특별시가 높은 효율성을 지닌 것으로 나타났다. 둘 째, 연도별 시․도체육회 운영 효율성을 분석한 결과 2016년에는 경기도 지역이 17개 시․도체육회 중 가장 높은 효율성을 지닌 것으로 나타났다. 두 번째로는 세종특별자치도, 세 번째는 충청남도 순으로 나타났다. 2017년 또한 경기도 지역이 효율성 지수가 가장 높게 나타났으며, 세종특별자치도, 충청북도 순으로 나타났다. 2018년에는 경기도 지역에서 효율성 지수가 가장 높게 나타났으며, 두 번째는 세종특별자치도, 세 번째는 서울특별시 순으로 나타났다.
