An Analysis of the Current Situation of Korean Domestic Box Office Since 1999and Comparing with that of Chinese Domestic Box Office Song, Shifeng Korean domestic box office has succeeded in growing at an average annual increase of 20 percent or over since 1999. Why can it have achieved? Firstly, this discourse discusses general features of Korean domestic box office, and secondly it analyzes the intrinsic characteristic of Korean audienceincluding the Korean unity as a unitary race, habits of relaxing and entertaining of Korean youth, decisive factors of why Korean audience enters a cinema, the situation of what kinds of genre films Korean audience prefers. Moreover, the discourse also in brief compares the current situation of Korean domestic box office with that of Chinese domestic box office.

1999년부터 한국영화의 국내 극장수입은 연평균 20%이상의 상승폭을 유지하며 양호한 발전을 보이고 있다. 본 논문은 한국 국내 극장수입의 총체적 특징을 분석하고 단일민족으로서 한민족의 단결의식과 한국 젊은 층의 오락습관 그리고 영화를 보는 결정요소와 영화장르에 대한 흥미 등을 중심으로 한국영화관객의 특질을 검토하였다. 이를 바탕으로 근년에 한국 국내 극장수입의 점진적인 발전 원인을 분석하였다. 동시에 중국 근년에 영화 극장수입과 간단하게 비교하였다.
