The meaning of the mobility of cinematic images often understood in superficial ways such as ‘the movement of the subject’ ‘the movement of the camera’ and ‘the overflow of space and time’ through montage. However, the constricted vision of understandings of the word ‘mobility’ can also narrow down the true sense of its significant implications. G. Deleuze expands the horizon of the cinematic movement to the stimulation of perception through his cinema-image theories. He accepts Bergson's concept of the image, but further advances his perception of cinematic time/movement-images in his Cinéma. The purpose of this study is to reveal the fractal structure of the cinematic movements to expose the larger scale of the image-movements by analyzing films by french filmmaker Leo's Carax, who considered a post-modernist film-auteur. By capturing the fractal properties of the cinematic movements in his films, this paper reveals that the cinema expands its meaning of the mobilities itself as an enduring whole and also broadens the perception of film spectators.

영화의 운동성이란 정지된 단면의 복사에서 벗어나 움직임을 인위적 단 위로 분절하여 발전(發電)시킴으로써 가능해진 현실을 재현하는 힘이다. 이는 곧 기계적 환영을 교정하는 직/간접적 시간-이미지를 다양한 운동의 층위를 통해 제시하는 들뢰즈적 ‘사유기관’인 영화매체의 본질이라고 할 수 있다. 의식을 확장하는 사유기관으로서 영화를 구성하는 한층 작은 수 준의 운동 경향은 작가의 양식화된 영상필체를 통해 드러나기 마련이다. 본고는 프랑스의 대표 작가인 레오스 까락스 작품의 미학적 측면을 이 미지 운동의 관점에서 분석한다. 이는 작품 속에 겹겹이 쌓인 미시적 운 동의 유동적 단면들, 즉 ‘형식이 된 감독의 예술적 직관’을 움직임으로 읽 으려는 시도다. 다시 말해, 시간의 흐름을 정지된 것으로 공간화하는 인 간 지각의 한계로부터 탈피하여 영화적 운동을 지각하는 것이다. 이를 통해 감독이 세 유형의 이미지 운동-작동방식을 영화적 기법으로 하여 관객에게 진정한 의미의 사유가 결여된 ‘무사유’를 재사유하도록 자 극하고 있음을 발견한다. 그 결과 생성된 의식의 간극을 자각하는 관객들은 관습적이고 논리적인 것에 의문을 던지게 되며, 그와 동시에 자연적 지각이 왜곡해온 세계에 대한 환영의 교정을 이룰 수 있다.
