Shigeharu Nakano's “Procrastination”(1963.5-6) is a novel that centers on a nature scientist Atsushi Nogami in the first half and questions in the foreground the attitude of the main character Yasuda during the prewar period, linked to the history of the party and the Communist (literary) movement in the latter half. In this paper, it is first indicated that the story in the first half, set against the backdrop of the precarious global situation of human extinction from nuclear weapons with the 1962 Cuban crisis at the peak, progresses centered on skepticism towards the notion that steady “development” of society through the advancement of science and technology. Next, in the latter half of the story, it is noted that skepticism towards “development” progresses through the skepticism of the procession of history based on the law of “scientific socialism” advocated by the Communist Party. This reveals how the novel's main subject, Procrastination, connects the first and second halves of the story. At the end of the story, the meaning of Yasuda's determination to evade this situation is examined, and the intention to develop a “place” to consider the individual's historical conditions of conversion (“tenko”) and warfare collaboration in the history of the party was at the heart of determination is revealed.

나카노 시게하루(中野重治) 「플러크라스티네이션」(『신일본문학』 1963.5-6)은 자연 과학자 노가미 아츠시(野上篤)를 중심으로 하는 전반부와 공산당과 공산주의(문학) 운동의 역사 및 그와 연동하는 주인공 야스다(安田)의 전전・전중의 태도에 대한 재 검토가 전개되는 후반부로 구성된 단편소설이다. 본고에서는 먼저 전반부가 1962년 의 쿠바 위기를 정점으로 하는 핵병기에 의한 인류 절멸이라는 세계 정세의 위기를 배경으로, 과학 기술의 진보로 사회가 순조롭게 ‘발전’한다는 통념에 대한 의문을 축으로 전개되고 있음을 지적했다. 후반부는 그러한 ‘발전’에 대한 의문이 공산당이 내건 ‘과학적 사회주의’ 법칙을 토대로 하는 역사의 진보라는 인식에 대한 의문은 바탕으로 전개되고 있음을 분석했다. 이러한 인식의 착오가 전전・전중뿐만 아니라 패전 후에도 계승되어 현재에 이르고 있음을, 독일과 일본의 공산당이 패전 후 최초 로 발표한 성명을 비교해서 분석했다. 독일 공산당 지도자가 히틀러 정권을 타도할 수 없었다는 정치적 책임을 고백한 반면, 일본의 옥중비전향 공산당지도자의 전후 첫 성명 「인민에게 호소한다」는 전쟁 책임에 대한 반성이 없었다. 이를 바탕으로 플 러크라스티네이션＝지연이라는 소설의 주제가 전반부와 후반부를 어떻게 연결시키 고 있는지를 밝혔다. 그리고 소설의 마지막에 그러한 상태를 벗어나려는 야스다의 결의가 표명된 것의 의미를 고찰했다. 전향과 전쟁 협력이라는 개인의 역사적 조건 을 당의 역사 안에서 검토하는 ‘장’을 개척하려는 결의가 그 핵심이다.
