The purpose of this paper is to analyze the need of music teachers’ in-service training and demand for training in terms of their qualifications . To achieve this, the analysis of music teacher training programs conducted within the past 5 years in accordance with status, goals of the training. musical instruments and related engineering was performed. Finally, relevant suggestions on what should be supplemented and improved were put toward to more practical training programs for music teachers from the perspective of programs’ contents, smart education, multiculturalism, teaching methods and training locations through conducting FGI on five in-service music teachers.

이 연구의 목적은 경남 지역 음악교사의 연수 실태와 연수 요구를 분석하는 것이다. 이를 위 해, 경남 지역에서 최근 5년간 이루어진 음악교사 직무연수 프로그램의 현황, 연수목표, 악기 별, 공학관련 등에 따라 분석하였고, 현직 음악교원 5명을 대상으로 FGI를 실시하여 음악교사 에게 실제로 필요한 연수가 되기 위해 직무 연수의 어떤 부분이 보완 및 개선되어야 하는지, 연 수 내용, 스마트 교육 관점, 다문화 관점, 교수학습 방법, 연수장소의 관점에서 제안하였다.
