The purpose of this study was to share the process and results of international cultural exchanges by exploring a case of eco-cultural performance contents while offering a Suncheon conference at the Printemp Coréen (Korean Spring) Festival held in Nantes. The author had tried to explore several aspects of international cultural exchanges by applying for the KOFICE project fund and providing follow-up activities since the proposal was accepted in March 2019. By borrowing case study techniques, data collection included documents such as reports, photographs, video data as well as personal memos. The main findings are as follows. First, several features of this case study were revealed as a successful extension of international exchanges with Nantes city based on adopting the city-university-private sector model. Second, Suncheon city's exemplar eco-tourism contents turned out to contribute to the mutual cultural understandings by exploring historical and creative places in Nantes with festival staffs. Third, the Korean delegation’s successful performance for Suncheon bay contents promoted actively interacting with French people based on the story of hooded cranes as part of representative performance repertoires in Suncheon city, an ecological capital in Korea. Finally, the follow-up efforts based on formative evaluation ended up with producing the improved versions of performance and publishing picture books.

본 연구의 목적은 낭트에서 개최한 한국의 봄 축제에서 순천시의 생태문화와 관련된 융합형 컨퍼런스를 개최하면서 공연 콘텐츠를 소개한 사례를 통하여 지자체 단위의 국 제문화교류에 대한 과정과 결과를 공유하는 것이다. 2019년 3월부터 한국국제문화교 류진흥원 공모 사업에 신청하기, 선정 후 준비하기 및 사업 진행 후에 후속 연계 활동을 총체적으로 제시함으로써 국제문화교류에 대한 심층적인 부분을 탐색하고자 하였다. 사례 연구 기법을 차용하여 제안서 및 보고서 등 문서와 사진, 동영상 자료 외에도 개인 의 메모와 대화 자료 등을 분석의 대상으로 삼았다. 질적 자료의 분석을 거친 후에 해석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 순천시가 기존이 구축한 낭트시와의 국제교류의 연장선에서 한국의 봄 축제의 장에 참가함으로써 민관 학 모델 기반의 문화예술에 관한 교류를 활성화시켰다. 둘째, 순천시가 전개한 2019 순 천만 방문의 해를 맞이하여 생태관광에 관련된 남도음식, 순천만에 관련된 동영상 및 사진 다큐 등을 소개함으로써 순천시의 홍보 효과를 거두었다. 셋째, 생태도시를 표방 하는 순천시의 생태문화를 대표할 만한 공연 콘텐츠로서 흑두루미 이야기를 토대로 창 작한 융합형 공연 콘텐츠를 시연함으로써 프랑스인들과 교류하는 성과를 거두었다. 그 외에 도시재생의 성공 사례로 알려진 낭트시의 다양한 문화자원을 탐방하고 낭트 시민 들과 교류함으로써 후속 교류활동에 관한 토대를 쌓는 결실을 거두었다. 마지막으로 이 사업에 대한 향후 개선 방향에 관하여 제안하였다.
