The purpose of this study is to analyze the actual condition of multicultural education lectures in the theological university and Seminary and to suggest the direction of multicultural education for the theological students. For this purpose, the study examined whether the multicultural classes were opened for 57 Protestant university and theological Seminary authorized by the Ministry of Education & Human Resources Development, and selected five seminaries, and analyzed the contents of the multicultural education lectures operated in the school by dividing them into multicultural knowledge, multicultural attitude, and multicultural skills from the perspective of cultivating multicultural competence. The results of the analysis showed that the following implications were derived: First, most of the multicultural education lectures that were operated in the university and theological Seminary were conducted in the dimension of international understanding education. In the future, multicultural education of the university and theological Seminary needs to be expanded to intercultural understanding education based on interculturalism. Second, most of the contents of the lecture focused on cultivating multicultural knowledge. Multicultural competence to be cultivated through multicultural education includes not only multicultural knowledge but also multicultural attitude and multicultural skills, so the contents of education should be supplemented evenly. Third, it is necessary to provide a step-by-step multicultural education customized to the characteristics of pre-pastors who are religious leaders. In order to strengthen the multicultural capacity of theological students as pre-pastors, it is necessary to establish a specialized area of differentiated multicultural education customized to theological students by interconnecting the specificity of theology and pastoral ministry and multiculturalism.

이 연구의 목적은 신학대학교에서 운영되고 있는 다문화강좌의 실태를 분석하고, 신학생을 위한 다문화교육의 방향을 제시하는 데 있다. 이를 위하여 교육부 인정 57개 개 신교 신학대학교를 대상으로 다문화강좌 개설여부를 확인하고, 그중 5개 신학대학교를 선정 해당 학교에서 운영되었던 다문화강좌의 교육 내용을 다문화 역량 함양의 관점에 서 다문화 지식, 다문화 태도, 다문화 기술로 나누어 분석하였다. 분석결과 다음과 같은 시사점을 도출할 수 있었다. 첫째, 신학대학교에서 운영되었 던 다문화강좌는 대부분 국제이해교육의 차원에서 진행되고 있었다. 향후 신학대학교의 다문화교육은 상호문화주의에 입각한 상호문화이해교육으로의 확장이 필요하다. 둘째, 강의내용의 대부분이 다문화 지식을 함양하는 것에 초점이 맞추어져 있었다. 다 문화교육을 통해 함양해야 할 다문화 역량에는 다문화 지식뿐만 아니라, 다문화 태도, 다문화 기술의 영역도 포함되므로, 이를 고루 갖출 수 있도록 교육내용이 보완되어야 한다. 셋째, 종교 지도자인 예비목회자의 특성에 맞춘 단계적 다문화교육이 필요하다. 예비목회자로서의 신학생의 다문화 역량강화를 위해서는 신학과 목회의 특수성과 다 문화를 상호 연계하여 신학생에 맞춘 차별화된 다문화교육의 전문영역을 구축할 필요 가 있다.
