This study delves into how traditional factors in Baek sae Joo of Kook Soon Dang which is well-known brand in the market of traditional wine of Korea, are represented in advertised images. Panofsky’s idea of Iconology becomes a tool for my methodology to examine how traditional icons in advertisement are included what kind of cultural characteristics they have. As a way to analyze various icons, this study, at the first stage of iconography, examines each characteristic of the icons based on the recognition of icons attracting look, and, at the second stage of it, the connotated meanings corresponding icons have. These icons come to have cultural idiosyncrasy as a discourse, and by finding the values from this cultural point of view, they can become a good example for campaign marketing. This study inquires into how the meaning of manifold icons connotated in the advertisement campaign of Baek Sae Joo are delivered to customers, how traditional method and contemporary one are taken, and how the connotated meaning of icons is denoted.

본 연구는 전통주 시장에서 성공한 브랜드로서 알려져 있는 국순당의 ‘백세주’를 바탕으로 전통적 요소들이 광고 이미지에 어떠한 방식으로 구 성되어 있는가에 대한 논문이다. 광고에 함축되어 있는 여러 기제들의 의 미체계 구조를 분석하고 이해하기 위해 다양한 기체들을 해체하고 파노프 스키의 도상적 분석을 접목시켜 백세주 광고 캠페인을 분석해 보았다. 전 (前) 아이코노그래피 단계에서는 시선에 들어오는 다양한 기제들의 인지 를 바탕으로 각각의 특성을 알아보았고, 2차적 단계인 아이코노그래피 단 계에서는 해당 기제들이 가지는 함축의미에 대해서 해석해 보았다. 이러 한 기제들은 하나의 담론으로 형성되어 문화적 특수성을 가지게 되는데, 3차적 단계인 아이코놀로지 단계에서 바로 이러한 문화적 관점에서 찾아 볼 수 있는 가치들을 찾아보았다. 즉 백세주 광고 캠페인에 내재되어 있 는 여러 기제가 시청자들에게 어떻게 의미전달 되고 있는가에 대해서 전통적 기법과 현실적 기법이 각각 어떠한 측면으로 표현되고 있는지 그리 고 내재되어 있는 기제가 외연적으로 어떻게 의미지어지고 있는지에 대해 서 고찰하였다.
