This study explores the role of the UCC with special reference to science Journalism. A media must adapt to the internet media’s situation for the purpose of the survivor from the changed circumstances. The UCC(User Creative Contents) explain a matter clearly the changed circumstances. All media have to accept the UCC as an indispensable condition, and the UCC become a matter of great importance. In the area of science Journalism, the UCC can played role of the interface with news users. In Particular, the science reports sometimes have a great notion of one-way and a bias toward. So, science Journalism need two-ways interface with users likes the UCC more often than other Journalism. However, the UCC’s newsflash and interactivity easily clash with the science reporting fidelity; this is a dilemma. Depending on whether science reporting decides to how accept the UCC, the science Journalism will have the different function in our society.

기존 미디어가 새로운 미디어 환경에서 생존하기 위해선 인터넷 미디어 의 변화를 능동적으로 수용하는 것이 중요하다. 변화된 환경을 극명하게 보여주는 것이 수용자의 상호작용을 나타낸 UCC(User Creative Contents: 이용자 참여 콘텐츠)인데, 이를 얼마나 활용하느냐 하는 것은 선택의 문 제가 아닌 필수의 문제가 되었다. 과학 저널리즘의 위상제고와 영향력 증 가와 함께 과학 저널리즘 분야에서도 UCC의 적극적인 활용이 요구되고 있다. 특히 과학보도는 다른 보도행위보다 일방향적이고, 가치편향적인 시 각보도로 비판을 받고 있음을 고려할 때, 더욱더 과학 저널리즘에서 UCC 로 대표되는 쌍방향 콘텐츠 생산방식이 절실히 요구된다고 할 수 있다. 하지만, UCC가 갖고 있는 속보성과 상호작용성은 과학보도가 갖고 있는 진실성과는 상충되는 딜레마가 있다. 따라서 앞으로 과학보도에서 UCC 를 어떻게 수용하느냐에 따라 과학 저널리즘의 사회적 영향도 달라질 것 이다.
