Ethnic Music Education is the foundation of national culture development and an important way to maintain national identity. Pipa is a traditional Chinese instrument, which occupies a large proportion in the national music. The inclusion of pipa in textbooks of primary and middle schools through various forms is important to the development of pipa, but also effective in preserving traditional culture. Therefore, this paper investigates the historical process of the evolution of Chinese pipa, and proposes the content of pipa education in Chinese national education curriculum and textbooks of primary and middle schools. It is hoped that South Korea can also help to understand the traditional music and make contributions to inheritance and development through the active Korean pipa education.

민족 음악 교육은 국가 민족 문화 발전의 근본이고 국가의 민족성을 보존하기 위해 중요한 방 법이기도 하다. 비파는 중국 전통 악기로서 민족 음악의 영역에서 큰 비중을 차지한다. 다양한 방법으로 비파를 초등학교와 중등학교의 교과서에 편입시키는 것은 비파를 어린 학생들에게 널 리 알리고 발전시키는데 중요하며 전통문화를 보존하는데도 효과적이다. 그래서 본 연구에서는 중국의 비파가 변화하고 발전해 온 역사적 과정을 살펴보고, 중국의 국가교육과정과 초등학교 및 중학교 교과서에 나타난 비파 교육 내용을 제시함으로써 중국 내에서 비파의 연주와 교육이 활발하게 이루어질 수 있었던 원인을 찾아보고자 하였다. 이를 통해, 한국에서도 한국 비파의 교육이 활발하게 이루어져서 전통음악의 이해를 돕고 계승, 발전하는데 도움이 될 수 있기를 바란다.
