This study focuses on sharing concerns about the real problems faced by elementary physical education, recognized by researcher. Physical education in school is facing an era of unprecedented prosperity. In order to revitalize physical education in school, Physical education Promotion Act was enacted, and various sports policies are being developed. In particular, policies such as the establishment of Physical Activity Promotion System(PAPS), activation of school sports clubs, and expansion of departmental teachers in physical education are representative examples of the abundance of elementary physical education. The awareness of the necessity and importance of physical education by teachers, students, parents, etc. is also increasing. The researcher argues that the revised curriculum that quickly reflected social demands also had an effect on the source of the abundance of physical education. In particular, the core competency curriculum can serve as an opportunity to demonstrate the potential of physical education. Nevertheless, the researcher argues that it is on the verge of a crisis. In particular, after the reorganization of the core competencies curriculum, elementary physical education has been alienated from the discourse of convergence education, and academic discussions related to this are lacking. In order to form the discourse of convergence education in the core competency curriculum, the researcher argued that it is necessary to consider the material of physical education that can realize the core competencies. It also suggested two challenges that will be encountered in the future. The first is to search for points that can contribute to convergence education. In order to solve this problem, it was suggested that we should believe in the potential competence of physical education and communicate and exchange with various fields. Second, it relates to the discourse related to the subject of physical education in future society schools. It was suggested that serious consideration for the subject of physical education and academic discussion should be continued.

본 연구는 초등체육이 처한 현실적 문제에 대한 고민을 함께 공유하는데 초점을 맞추고 있다. 학교체육은 유례없는 풍요의 시대를 맞이하고 있다. 학교체육 활성화를 위해 학교체육진흥법이 제정되었고, 관련하여 다양한 체육 정책 도 전개되고 있다. 특히, 학생 건강체력 평가의 정착, 학교 스포츠클럽의 활성화, 체육 전담교사 배치 확대 등과 같 은 정책들은 초등체육 풍요의 대표적인 사례들이다. 체육의 필요성과 중요성에 대한 교사, 학생, 학부모 등 학교체 육 주체들의 인식도 높아지고 있다. 연구자는 초등체육 풍요의 근원에는 사회적 요구를 발 빠르게 반영한 교육과정 개정이 이루어진 점도 영향을 미쳤다고 주장한다. 특히, 역량중심 교육과정은 체육의 잠재력을 보여줄 수 있는 기 회로 작용할 수 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고 연구자는 오히려 위기의 국면에 접어들고 있다고 주장한다. 역량중심 교 육과정 개편 이후 융합 교육 담론에 오히려 초등체육은 소외되어 있으며, 이와 관련된 학술적 논의가 부족하다. 핵 심역량 교육과정에서 융합교육 담론을 형성하기 위해서는 핵심역량을 구현할 수 있는 체육의 소재를 고민할 필요가 있다고 주장하였다. 또한, 미래에 마주하게 될 두 가지 난제를 제시하였다. 첫째는 융합교육에 기여할 수 있는 지점 을 탐색하는 것이다. 이를 해결하기 위해서는 체육의 잠재역량을 믿고 다양한 분야와 소통하고 교류해야 한다는 점 을 제안하였다. 둘째, 미래사회 학교체육의 소재와 관련된 담론에 관한 것이다. 체육의 소재에 대한 진지한 고민이 필요함과 더불어 학술적 토론이 이어져야 함을 제언하였다.
