Can be naturalized epistemology conducted as a normative enterprise, or is it merely descriptive enterprise as traditional epistemologists maintain? This paper classify a broad spectrum of naturalized epistemologies into eliminativism, reductionism, and criterialism in terms of their attitudes toward naturalistic fallacy, and among them I seek to a strategy that can preserve normativity of epistemology. I maintain that first two strategies, viz., eliminativism and reductionism may have given the cause for the accusation of ruling out the normativity, and propose that the last strategy, viz., criterialism can preserve the normativity. Contrary to eliminativists and reductionists, criterialists may think normative concepts cannot be eliminated or defined by non-normative concepts but insist that there must be natural criteria for their application, i.e. the normative supervenes on the natural. Thus, I conclude that criterialists can have both the normativity and naturalistic element, so characteristic of epistemology. Finally, I discuss about what tasks criterialism must undertake in order to become satisfactory strategy.

자연화된 인식론은 규범적 기획인가, 아니면 단지 기술적 기획에 불과한가? 이 논문은 다양한 스펙트럼의 자연화된 인식론들을 자연주의적 오류에 대한 태도를 기준으로 분류하고, 그 중에서 인식론의 규범성을 보존할 수 있는 입장이 어떤 것인지를 모색한다. 그 과정에서 제거론과 환원론은 인식론의 규범성을 보존할 수 없다고 주장하며, 인식론의 규범성을 보존할 수 있는 가능한 입장은 기준론이라고 주장한다. 제거론이나 환원론과 달리 기준론은 규범적 개념들을 자연적인 기술적 개념들로 정의하거나 환원시키지 않으면서도 규범성에 대해 자연주의적 기준을 제시하려 한다. 따라서 필자는 기준론이 “자연주의적” 이론이면서도 “규범성”을 보존할 수 있는 가능한 입장이라고 주장할 것이다. 그리고 마지막으로 기준론이 좀 더 완성된 이론이 되기 위해 해결해야 할 과제들에 대해서 전망해볼 것이다.
