The researchers in Korea and abroad have two main perspectives about S. Žižek, who is globally known as a Lacanian Hegelian from Slovenia. One of them has the positive view that Žižek’s discourse is a promising alternative to break through today’s capitalistic system by returning to ‘Marxism-Leninism’, whereas the other argues that Žižek’s discourse is inconsistent, his interpretation about the theoretical resources for the discourse lacks elaboration, and his radical slogans about the ‘return to Lenin’, ‘communism’, and ‘good terrorism’ are only abstract and far from the political circumstances today. Considering these two opposing perspectives, this study discusses the hierarchical foundation of Žižek as a revolutionary avant-gardist and reviews Žižek’s theoretical alternatives from a positive perspective. In this process, it focuses on the transition of Žižek’s theoretical perspective from a radical democrat to a revolutionary avant-gardist and overviews his theoretical perspective for the subjective action and political resistance for ‘the Traverse of Fantasy’, the adherence to the hierarchy based on the partiality of truth, and the foundation of communist utopian plan based on Lenin. By doing so, it proves that Žižek’s theory can be significant for today’s political stance to reclaim ‘the share for the isolated’ and argues that it can be a breakthrough against the Leftist movements.

슬로베니아의 라캉주의적 헤겔주의자로서 전 세계적으로 널리 알려져 있는 슬라보예 지젝(S. Žižek)의 사상에 대해 국내･외 연구자들의 평가는 크게 두 가지로 나뉜다. 이들 가운데 한 편은 지젝의 담론이 ‘맑스-레닌주의’로의 회귀를 통해 전지구적 자본주의 체제를 돌파할 유력한 대안이라는 긍정적 입장을 취한다. 그러나 다른 한편은 지젝의 담론이 일관되지 않고, 그의 담론의 이론적 자원에 대한 지젝식의 전유와 해석은 엄밀성을 결여하고 있을 뿐만 아니라, ‘레닌으로의 복귀’, ‘공산주의’, ‘좋은 테러’와 같은 지젝의 급진적인 구호들이 현실적 정세와 동떨어져 있는 추상적 수준에 머물러 있다고 평가한다. 지젝을 둘러싼 두 가지 상반된 평가는 궁극적으로 지젝의 레닌주의와 공산주의를 어떻게 이해할 것인가라는 한 가지 논점으로 환원된다. 지젝의 사상을 둘러싼 국내･외 연구자들의 상반된 평가를 염두에 두고 이 글은 다음의 두 가지 논의를 포함하고 있다. 첫째, 지젝의 사상을 ‘포스트 맑스주의’로부터 ‘레닌주의’로의 이행과 관련지어 검토한다. 이 과정에서 이 글은 헤겔의 부정성 개념에 대한 지젝의 해석이 주체, 저항, 행위, ‘환상의 횡단’ 및 민주주의 등과 같은 그의 주요 개념들과 어떤 관련을 맺고 있는지 분석한다. 둘째, ‘레닌으로의 복귀’와 ‘공산주의’라는 지젝의 슬로건이 어떠한 문제의식으로부터 비롯된 산물인지 검토한 후, 그의 주장이 오늘날 우리의 정치･경제적 현실 속에서 갖는 몇 가지 긍정적 함의들을 정리한다. 이 글은 지젝의 주장이 구체성을 결여하고 있다는 일부 연구자들의 비판적 평가에는 동의한다. 그럼에도 불구하고 이 글은 지젝의 레닌주의와 공산주의가 신자유주의 체제의 전지구적 보편화로 인해 모든 저항 동력을 상실해 버린 오늘날의 현실 속에서 자본주의 너머를 기획하기 위한 하나의 출발점이 될 수 있다고 평가한다.
