The main purpose of this paper suggesst that communication possibility, one of the main theme in mordern society. I have concentrate on Kant's sensus communis and seek for it's limits and possibility. For that, the first is to investigate Hannah Arendt that succeed to Kant's aesthetics thinking into political philosophy. Especially Hannah Arendt switch off from Kant's a priori sensus communis into experiential community sense. Consequently Kant's sensus communis come into key point of political communication. So then, it is the matter that where is political communication place. For that, I argue that person's status and role in the liberalism and the communitarianism, so investigate thinkable sensus communis in political community. At the end, this paper is treated in possibility that media society's function and role.

이 연구는 현대사회의 화두 중 하나인 의사소통의 문제를 진단하고 그것의 현대적 가능성을 제시하고자 하였다. 논자는 의사소통의 기반으로 칸트의 공통감을 중심에 두었고 이를 적용할 수 있는 범위와 한계를 모색하였다. 이를 위하여 먼저 칸트의 공통감을 정치철학으로 계승한 한나 아렌트를 살펴보았다. 아렌트는 칸트의 미학적 사유를 정치철학적으로 전개시킨다. 특히 한나 아렌트는 칸트의 선험적 공통감을 경험적 공동체감각으로 전환한다. 이로써 칸트의 공통감은 정치적 의사소통의 핵심 전제로 기능하게 된다. 그렇다면 이러한 정치적 의사소통이 가능한 장소는 어느 곳일 수 있는지가 문제로 남는다. 이를 위하여 논자는 자유주의와 공동체주의 안에서 개인의 역할과 위상을 검토함으로써 정치적 공동체 안에서 가질 수 있는 공통감에 대한 논의를 전개하였다. 마지막으로 정치적 공통감을 소통할 수 있게 매개해주는 미디어사회의 기능과 역할의 가능성을 점검해보면서 의사소통의 기반으로서 공통감이 기능할 수 있는 사회적 배경을 논의하였다.
