The purpose of this study is to examine the current status of the Korean Wave in Southeast Asia and to present tasks for continuous development in the future. The results of the study are as follows. First, the concept was established by separating similar terms related to the Korean Wave. The history of the Korean Wave was divided into three periods: Hallyu 1.0, Hallyu 2.0, and Hallyu 3.0. Second, the trend of the Korean Wave, including the entire Southeast Asian country, was examined and evaluated. As a result, the four countries that received the assessment of the spread of the Korean Wave were Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam. It was the Philippines and Singapore as the two countries that received the mature evaluation. The two countries that were evaluated for their growth periods were Myanmar and Cambodia. Countries rated as emerging countries were Brunei, Laos and East Timor. Third, as a task for the continuous spread of the Korean Wave, it proposed the diagnosis and countermeasures of the lull of the Korean Wave, the maintenance of the balance of Hallyu discourse, the establishment of a database related to the Korean Wave and the establishment of a copyright protection system.

이 연구의 목적은 동남아시아의 한류동향을 고찰하여 신남방정책 관련 정책적 과제를 제 시하는데 있다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 한류 관련 유사용어를 구분하여 개념을 정립 하였다. 한류의 역사는 한류1.0, 한류2.0, 한류3.0 등 3개시기로 구분하여 각 역사의 흐름을 정리하였다. 둘째, 동남아시아 국가 전체를 포함하는 한류의 동향을 고찰하여 이에 대한 평 가를 하였다. 그 결과 한류의 확산기 평가를 받은 국가는 4개국으로서 인도네시아, 말레이 시아, 타이, 베트남 등이었다. 성숙기 평가를 받은 국가로는 2개국으로서 필리핀, 싱가포르 였다. 성장기 평가를 받은 국가는 2개국으로서 미얀마, 캄보디아였다. 신흥기 평가를 받은 국가는 3개국으로서 브루나이, 라오스, 동티모르 등이었다. 셋째, 한류의 지속적 확산을 위 한 과제로서, 한류의 소강상태의 진단과 대책, 한류담론 균형유지, 한류 관련 DB구축 및 저 작권보호 시스템 구축 등을 제시하였다.
