This study analyzed how the recent increase in imports by changes in the supply and demand of pork in China affected the global trade network using the Social Network Analysis (SNA). As a result of the analysis, the number of import partner countries (indegree centrality) increased, and the ability to respond to changes in the import market (incloseness centrality) was also strengthened. However, despite the increase in the volume of imports and diversification of import partners, the improvement of trade control capacity was insignificant. In other words, while the volume of pork imports increased and the number of import partners increased, overall market control and bargaining power were relatively weakened as export partners were reduced due to the significantly decrease in export volume. Issues related to the supply and demand of agricultural products in China became global issues, not just domestic ones. In particular, since Korea has similar eating habits and is geographically adjacent to China and has close relationships within the agricultural trade network, it should closely monitor China’s influence, control and role changes within the trade network to minimize factors hindering domestic supply and demand stability.

본 연구는 최근 중국 내 돼지고기 수급 변화에 따른 수입량 증가가 글로벌 무역 네트 워크에 어떠한 영향을 미쳤는가를 소셜네트워크분석법(Social Network Analysis)을 이 용해 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 수입 대상국의 수(내향 연결중심성)가 증가하였고, 수입 시장의 변화에 대응하는 능력(내향 근접 중심성)도 강화되었다. 다만, 수입량의 증가와 수입선의 다변화에도 불구하고 무역 통제 능력(매개 중심성)의 향상은 미미한 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 돼지고기 수입량이 증가하고 수입 파트너가 늘었지만, 수출량 급감에 따라 수출 파트너가 줄어들면서 전체적인 시장 통제력과 협상력은 상대적으로 약화되 었다. 중국의 농산물 수급 관련 이슈는 자국만의 문제가 아니라 글로벌 이슈가 되었다. 특히, 한국은 중국과 유사한 식습관을 보유하고 지리적으로 인접해 있으면서 농산물 무역 네트워크 내에 밀접한 관계를 맺고 있기 때문에, 무역 네트워크 내에서 중국의 영향력, 통제력과 역할 변화를 면밀히 살펴 국내 수급 안정을 저해할 요인을 최소화해야 한다.
