The No.1 central document, presented by the Chinese government, indicated that the promotion of rural areas was the biggest issue of the Chinese government, with the theme of Sannong as the subject in 2020. In relation to Sannong, China's agriculture and livestock industry are of high importance due to food problems. China is the country with the highest consumption of meat including pigs, but due to animal and plant quarantine and food hygiene problems, the mortality rate is high and productivity is significantly lower. The Chinese government is trying to achieve the construction of Xiaokang society and solve the regional imbalance through modernization of agriculture. Among them, the livestock industry is currently being developed by the Chinese government through various policies including the smart farm industry. In this study, the data from 2005 to 2016 provided by the National Bureau of Statistics of China is used to analyze the relationship between the livestock industry and regional economic growth that the Chinese government is paying attention to. As a result of the analysis, there was no statistical significance in all regions except the northeast region. Previous studies have shown that increasing the share of primary industries has a negative impact on regional economic growth, but this study was uncertain. Therefore, it is expected that as the development of Chinese livestock industry progresses, it will turn into a positive influence on regional economic growth.

2020년에도 중국 정부가 제시하는 중앙 1호 문건의 주제로 삼농이 선정되면서 농촌 진흥이 중국 정부의 최대 현안임을 나타내고 있다. 삼농과 관련하여 중국의 농업과 목축업은 식량 문제에 의해 중요도가 높다. 중국은 돼지를 비롯하여 육류 소비가 가장 많은 국가이지만 동식물 검역 및 식품 위생상 문제에 의해 폐사율이 높아 생산성이 현저하게 떨어진다. 중국 정부는 샤오캉 사회의 건설과 지역 불균 형 문제 해결을 농업 현대화를 통해 이루려고 한다. 현재 중국 정부에서 목축업 은 스마트팜 산업을 비롯한 다양한 정책을 통해 발전시키고 있다. 본 연구에서는 중국 국가통계국에서 제공하는 2005년부터 2016년까지의 자료를 이용하여 중국 정부가 주목하고 있는 목축업과 지역경제성장과의 관계를 분석하고자 한다. 분석 결과, 동북부 지역을 제외하고 모든 지역에서 통계적 유의성이 나타나지 않았다. 선행연구에 따르면 1차 산업의 비중이 증가하면 지역경제성장에 부정적인 영향을 미친다고 했지만 본 연구에서는 확언할 수 없었다. 따라서 중국 목축업의 발전이 진행될수록 지역경제성장에 긍정적인 영향으로 변할 것을 기대한다.
