The function of the structure of “gei-VP” in the discourse is oriented to the “destination”, which is a structure that narrates from the perspective of the object. The structure of “gei-VP”(past tense) expresses the beneficiary/maleficiary of the speaker's empathy, but most express impaired meanings. But most of them express impaired meaning. But in the future tense, the expression of benefit is an overwhelming majority. In the affirmative sentences expressing the past tense, “gei-VP” has five typical meanings in the text, that is, most need to co-occur with subjective marker words, and most of them are located in the last of serial clauses. The cognitive domain is positioned in the real world, and speakers tend to empathize, and most express maleficiary. This paper believes that the “gei” of the “gei-VP” structure is a more subjective text-level marker that introduces “external force” and passively affects the empathy object, rather than a sentence-level marker.
