The purpose of this study is to identify the phonological processing and the phonological motive in which typical perception errors regarding word-initial onset alveolar fricatives and the word-internal onset alveolar fricatives of Korean based on Element Theory. For this aim, this study derived the relevant typical perceptual errors that have been covered in existing studies. Then, this study identified the phonological processing and the phonological motive of the perceptual confusion errors “ㅅ⇆ㅆ” in word-initial onsets and the perceptual alternation error “ㅆ→ㅅ” in word-internal onsets. Results show that when Chinese learners perceive Korean alveolar fricatives, reinterpretations take place due to composition(addition of the element |H|) and decomposition(loss of the element |ʔ|).

본 연구는 구성원소 이론을 바탕으로 중국인 학습자들의 한국어 어두 초성 마찰음과 어중초성 마찰음의 전형적인 지각 오류 양상이 일어나는 음운구조 처리 과정과 음운론적 동인을 밝히는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 먼저 기존 연구에서 다루어진 중국인 학습자들의 한국어 어두 초성과 어중 초성에서의 마찰음의 전형적인 지각 오류 양상을 도출한다. 그 다음 도출된 중국인 학습자의 한국어 어두 초성에서의 ‘ㅅ⇆ㅆ’와 같은 지각 혼동 오류 및 어중 초성에서의 ‘ㅆ→ㅅ’와 같은 지각 대치 오류가 발생하는 음운구조 처리 과정과 음운론적 동인을 밝힌다. 그 결과, 중국인 학습자들이 한국어 치경 마찰음을 지각하는 데 주로 ‘구성원소의 결합(기식성 구성원소 |H|의 첨가)’과 ‘구성원소의 분해(긴장성 구성원소 |ʔ|의 탈락)’로 인해 재해석 과정이 발생한다.
