The study aims to use the context analysis method to identify the operations and activities of the sports department in Korea N.A. from 1946 to 1953. The following is the results from the study. First, In 1947, 1st cadet graduated and ran the "Gyowoohoe." In 1951, the "Okpohoe" was organized to operate the sports department. Second, the purpose of the sports department was to foster a fighting spirit and strong physical strength. Third, from the 8th cadet in 1950, the focus was on improving the performance of sports clubs for participation in external activities through the invitation coaches such as volleyball, etc. Fourth, in 1946, individual sports clubs such as ssireum or small-scale clubs appeared, and from 2nd cadet, group sports clubs such as baseball appeared. From 5th cadet, tennis․weightlifting clubs were operated. From 7th cadet in the handball․fencing․wrestling․yachts clubs and karate in 10th cadet were newly operated. Fifth, the 1st(1951) and 2nd(1952) Korea N.A. Sports Festival were held at Jinhae Public Stadium. Sixth, the Sports department of the Korea N.A. raised the honor of the Koera N.A. by participating in the 1951, 1952, 1953 National Sports Competition and winning the prize for excellence.

이 연구는 문헌분석방법을 사용하여 1946년 해군사관학교 개교부터 1954년 제1회 삼군사관학교 체육대회 개최 전까지의 체육부 활동의 운영과 대내ㆍ외 활동을 규명하고 그 의미를 밝히는 데 목적이 있다. 이에 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었 다. 첫째, 1947년 1기생이 졸업하면서 ‘교우회’를, 1951년에는 ‘옥포회’가 조직되면서 체육부 활동이 운영되었다. 둘째, 체육부 활동의 목적은 ‘고결한 군인정신’ 함양, 즉 감투 정신 및 강인한 체력을 육성하는 데 있었다. 셋째, 1950년 8기생부 터는 배구 등의 전문지도자 초빙 등을 통해 대외활동 참가를 위한 체육반 중심으로 경기력 향상에 초점을 두었다. 넷째, 1946년 1기생 때는 씨름 등의 개인, 또는 소규모 중심으로, 2기생부터는 야구 등의 단체 스포츠반이 나타났고, 4기생 때 정구반ㆍ역도반이 5기생부터는 송구반, 7기생부터는 커터반, 9기생부터는 펜싱반ㆍ레슬링반ㆍ요트반, 10기생부터는 당 수반이 신설ㆍ운영되었다. 다섯째, 1951년 5월 7일과 1952년 10월 12일에 진해공설운동장에서 제1회와 제2회 해군사관 학교 체육제전이 개최되었다. 이는 현 해군사관학교 명예 중대 경기의 근간을 이룬다. 여섯째, 1951년 6월 26일 해병학교 대 해사 대항 권투대회를 시작으로 1951, 1952, 1953년 전국체육대회 등에 참가한 해사 체육부는 우수한 성적으로 입상 하여, 해사의 명예를 드높였다.
