This study aims to identify some strategies to invigorate the local cultural tourism by attending a holographic technology. The author analyze some typical features by examining the critical factors and meaningful cases to apply the holographic technology to cultural tourism, and then illustrates the directions and tasks of how to develop and revitalize cultural tourism contents embedded the holographic technology. When the holographic technology is applied to cultural tourism contents, it all comes with the strengths of mixed reality, human-technological interaction, and expansion of the stage, which could provide unique and special experiences to tourists. However, in many case, as the ongoing projects and business tend to focus on the development of technology, they might be insufficient to meet the core elements of the experience economy (Entertainment experience, Escape experience, Esthetic experience, Educational experience). In order to promote local tourism by applying the holographic technology to local cultural resources, it is necessary to create a sort of holographic contents with Placeness-including performance, mapping shows, theme parks, digital heritage, cultural landscapes-which is harmonized by experiential factors. It should be to prepare a proper system for a regulatory reform and a new technique to prevent the existing system from seizing the development of new technical content.

이 연구는 홀로그램 기술을 적용하여 지역의 문화관광을 활성화하는 방향을 제언하는 데 목적이 있다. 이 연구에서는 홀로그램 기술을 문화관광과 연계하기 위한 핵심요소와 주요 사례를 검토하여 특징을 분석한 뒤에, 지역에서 홀로그램 기술을 적용한 문화관광콘텐츠를 개발하고 활성화하는 방향 및 과제를 살펴보았다. 문화관광콘텐츠에 홀로그램 기술이 적용되면 혼합현실, 인간과 기술의 상호작용, 무대의 확장이라는 강점이 관광객에게 독특하면서 특별한 체험을 제공한다. 하지만 기존 사업들이 기술개발에 집중하여 체험경제의 핵심요소(오락적, 심미적, 일탈적, 교육적 요소)를 충족하지 못하는 경우가 많다. 지역의 문화자원에 홀로그램 기술을 적용하여 지역관광을 진흥시키기 위해서는 장소성을 갖는 홀로그램 콘텐츠 유형(공연, 맵핑쇼, 테마파크, 디지털헤리티지, 문화경관)을 선정하여 체험적 요소가 조화를 이루도록 노력해야 한다. 기존 제도가 새로운 기술적용 콘텐츠 개발의 발목을 잡지 않도록 규제개혁과 새로운 기술에 부합하는 제도 마련도 요구된다.
