In this paper, we explained the concept of Heterotopia theory and confirmed the association with art. And we analyzed the works of Anish Kapoor and Olafur Eliasson, the artists who are most noted for installation art in the art world, and looked at the aspect of Heterotopia's space being embodied in art. As a result of focusing on the two authors' spatial expression method, it was confirmed that the viewer perceived Heterotopia more easily and that the space of Heterotopia was used in the field by collaborating with architecture, science, and engineering to express the space of Heterotopia. This shows how art should develop in the future, especially in that it has contributed to the expansion of the concept of installation art space and expanded the appearance of installation art to include politics, society, culture, and historical space. It was also confirmed that the reproduction of Heterotopia in art was a realization of Foucault's theory.

이 논문에서는 헤테로토피아 이론을 개념적으로 설명하고 미술과의 연관성을 확인하였다. 그리고미술계에서 설치미술로 가장 주목받는 작가인 아니쉬 카푸어와 올라퍼 앨리아슨의 작품을 분석하여헤테로토피아의 공간이 미술로 구현된 양상을 살펴보았다. 두 작가의 공간 표현법에 초점을 두고살펴본 결과, 일상에서 인식하기 어려운 헤테로토피아의 공간을 감상자들이 보다 쉽게 지각할 수있도록 작업하였고, 헤테로토피아의 공간을 표현하기 위해 건축, 과학, 공학 등과 협업함으로써 해당분야의 집약된 기술을 이용하였음을 확인하였다. 이는 미술이 앞으로 어떻게 발전해야 하는지를 보여준 것으로, 특히 설치미술의 공간에 대한 개념 확장에 기여하여 정치, 사회, 문화, 역사적인 공간으로까지 설치미술의 외연을 한층 넓혔다는 점에서 의미가 있다. 아울러 미술에서 헤테로토피아 공간의재현이 푸코의 이론을 실현한 것임을 확인할 수 있었다.
