This paper explores the political and social characteristics of Blast Theory's digital works and analyzes their performative corporeality. This research stems from the revelation that their digital works have a hybrid background, promote greater critical awareness of social problems through a wide range of performative acts and create public spheres in a way that has evolved. My paper first discusses the political and social characteristics that emerged in Blast Theory's early and mid-1990s performances that enabled performative experiences through physical reactions. Based on this, I analyze the social problems dealt with in digital works set in hybrid reality, and the role of corporeality and acts that explore social problems. Even though their works cannot be grouped into a consistent genre, Blast Theory creates a sense of political and social problems through the medium of corporeality, and forms spheres for public debate that provide the audience with the opportunity to get answers to problems directly.

본 연구는 블라스트 씨어리의 디지털 작품에 나타나는 정치적이고 사회적인 성격을 살펴보고 이를 수행적 신체성을 중심으로 분석하는데 목적을 둔다. 이러한 연구의 배경 에는 이들의 디지털 작품이 물리적 세계와 디지털 세계를 중첩시켜 폭넓은 수행적 행위 로 문제의식을 발현시키고, 이를 통해 발전된 방식의 공론장을 형성하고 있음을 밝히는 데 목표가 있다. 본 논문은 육적 신체 반응 통해 수행적 체험을 가능케 하는 블라스트 씨 어리의 1990년대 초중반 작품에서 나타나는 정치사회적 성격 대해 논한다. 그리고 이를 기반으로 디지털 작업 중 혼합현실을 배경으로 삼는 작품들에서 논하고 있는 사회적 문 제와 이에 대해 사유 가능케 하는 신체와 행위의 역할 등에 대해 분석한다. 이는 그들의 작품을 일관된 장르로 묶을 수 없음에도 불구하고 신체라는 매개를 통해 정치사회적 문 제의식을 유발하고 이에 대한 해답을 관객들에게 직접 구할 수 있는 기회를 제공하는 공 론의 장을 구성한다는 점에 주목하고 있다.
