In order to find an effective approach to the invention education of elementary school teachers, the perception and education needs of elementary school teachers were analyzed. In the recognition of invention education of elementary school teachers, 'Edison', 'creativity', 'inconvenient', 'idea', and 'convenience', and the introduction of invention education was in the 3rd and 4th grades. The most suitable operating method for invention education is education through 'creation time', 'after school activities' and 'curricular time', and science and practical science are suitable subjects for invention education. The most necessary content areas for invention education were ‘invention education program’, ‘invention education facilities and environment’, and ‘invention activity guidance method’, etc. There was no significant difference in the education needs for invention education of teachers according to the years of service, gender, and experience

초등교사의 발명교육에 대한 효과적인 접근 방법을 찾아 발명교육의 효과를 높이는 것을 목적으 로 초등교사의 발명교육에 대한 인식과 교육요구도를 분석하였다. 초등교사의 발명교육에 대한 인식에서 발명에 관해 연상한 단어로는 ‘에디슨’, ‘창의’, ‘불편’, ‘아 이디어’, ‘편리’ 등이 있었으며, 발명교육의 도입 시기는 3ㆍ4 학년군이 좋으며, 발명교육에 가장 적합한 운영 방식으로 ‘창체 시간’ㆍ‘방과 후 활동’ㆍ‘교과 시간’을 통한 교육이며, 발명교육에 적합 한 교과는 과학(44.7%), 실과(37.9%)이었다. 가장 필요한 발명교육 내용영역은 ‘발명교육 프로 그램 개발’, ‘발명교육 시설 및 환경’, ‘발명활동 지도법’ 등의 순이었다. 초등교사의 발명교육에 대한 교육요구도는 발명교육에 대한 능력수준과 근무연수, 성별, 발명교 육 지도 경험과 발명교육의 중요도는 근무연수, 성별, 발명교육 지도 경험에 따라 유의미한 차이가 없었다. 초등교사의 발명교육요구도가 높은 내용표준은 ‘문제와 관찰’, ‘발명과 생활’, ‘발명의 역사’, ‘발명과 윤리’, ‘발명과 디자인’ 등의 순이었으며, 하위요소는 ‘발명품 과학 원리’, ‘발명 아이디어 창 출’, ‘창의적 사고’, ‘생활 속의 발명품’, ‘세상을 바꾼 발명품’ 등의 순이었다.
