This study aims to analyze how the ‘post-war’ period has been discussed in feature articles titled ‘the ○○th Anniversary of the End of the War’ included in Chuokoron (中央公論) and Seiron (正論) from Japan’s defeat in the war to today and how the meaning of ‘postwar’ as a concept has been transformed over time, and through this process to assess Japan’s perceptions of post-war in such moderate and conservative magazines in Japan. Why is the concept of ‘post-war’ an issue? This is attributable to the uncertainty of the term’s meaning. When the Japanese government’s 1956 economic white paper after its defeat declared, “Japan is no longer in the postwar period,” the concept of ‘post-war’ seemed to be used from an economic perspective. ‘Post-war,’ however, has since reemerged as an important concept in understanding problems in modern Japan, and has been discussed numerous times, and in this process, the uncertainty of ‘post-war’ as a concept has become clearer. This study attempted to diachronically discuss Japan’s recognition of ‘post-war’ in moderate and conservative magazines, focusing on feature articles on the post-war period that have been published in Chuokoron and Seiron from Japan’s defeat in the war to today.

본 연구는 패전 이후부터 현재까지의 『주오코론(中央公論)』과 『세이론(正論)』에 수록된 ‘전후○○년’ 특집 속에서 ‘전후’가 어떻게 논의되고 있는지 분석함으로써 중도 및 보수 잡지에서의 일본의 ‘전후’ 인식에 대한 고찰을 목적으로 한다. 일본의 ‘전후’라는 개념은 왜 쟁점이 되는가. 이는 의미의 불분명함에서 기인한다. 패전 이후 1956년 일본정부의 경제백서에 “더 이상 ‘전후’가 아니다”라고 선언되었을 때의 ‘전후’라는 개념은 경제적 측면에서 사용된 것처럼 보였다. 하지만 ‘전후’는 일본의 현대적 문제를 파악하는 중요한 개념으로 다시 등장했고, 그 이래로 수차례 논의되었는데, 이러한 과정에서 이 개념의 불분명함은 더욱 두드러졌다. 본 연구에서는 일본의 ‘전후’ 인식을 통시적으로 살펴볼 수 있는 『주오코론』과 『세이론』의 패전 이후부터 지금까지의 전후 특집 기사를 대상으로 중도 및 보수 잡지에서의 ‘전후’ 인식에 대한 고찰을 시도하였다.
