『Hormon Culture』 was published by Shinkansa, which mainly publishes Korean-Japanese magazines, and the title was also published under the unique title “Hormon”. It is true that despite the fact that many Korean-Japanese magazines and newspapers have been published, systematic and detailed research or analysis of these magazines has not been conducted. The problem wasn't easy to approach because it wasn't a general public magazine in Japan, but there could be no practical research. In addition, there were problems such as the conflict between the South and the North surrounding the Korean-Japanese, and the conflict caused by the conflict between Mindan and Chongryon, and thus rejected the same people. However, 『Hormon Culture』 tried to become a messenger that harmonized both the heterogeneity and the duality that emerged between the homeland and Japan and the conflict between Mindan and Chongryun in terms of content. In addition, it can be confirmed that, in the novel, coping with the winning spirit and wiseness in the difficulties of Korean-Japanese is trying to recall the ethnic and identities that disappear with the overcoming of the minorities of Korean-Japanese.

『호르몬문화』는 재일코리안의 잡지를 주로 출판하는 신간사에서 출판하였고 그의 제목 또한 ‘호르몬’이라는 독특한 제목으로 창간하였다. 재일코리안의 종합잡지와 신문 등이 많이 발간되었음에도 불구하고 이들 잡지에 대한 체계적이고 구체적인 연구나 분석은 이루어지지 못한 게 사실이다. 문제는 일본의 대중 종합잡지가 아니기에 접근하기도 쉽지 않았겠지만 실질적인 연구가 없었다고 볼 수 있다. 또한 당대에는 재일코리안을 둘러싼 남과 북의 갈등, 민단과 총련의 대립으로 인한 갈등 등에 발목을 잡혀서 서로 같은 민족을 배척하는 등의 문제점들이 있었다. 그러나 『호르몬문화』는 내용적인 면에서의 민단과 총련의 사이에서 갈등이 점철되지 못하는 점과 조국과 일본의 사이에서 떠오르는 이질성과 양면성을 다 어우르는 메신저가 되기 위해 노력했다. 또한 소설속에서 재일코리안들이 갖은 어려움 속에서 이기는 근성과 지혜롭게 대처하는 것은 재일코리안이 가진 마이너리티의 극복과 함께 사라지는 에스닉과 이이덴티티를 상기시키려함을 확인할 수 있다.
