From a strategic entrepreneurship perspective, this study aims to explore the effect of an organizational ambidexterity on firm performance, with a particular emphasis on the moderating effect of bricolage. Drawing on literature regarding bricolage and organizational ambidexterity, hypotheses are constructed and tested using the data collected from 229 small and medium-sized venture firms in South Korea. Results indicate that the ambidexterity is positively related to firm performance. Bricolage is also found to have a moderating effect on the relationship. These findings suggest that the firms should be in the pursuit of the balance between exploration and exploitation in order to improve performance. They are also highly expected to achieve a better outcome with a high level of bricolage. Implications, limitations and future research directions are discussed.

본 연구는 전략적 기업가정신 관점에서 조직 양면성 전략과 기업성과 간의 관계를 분석하고, 그 관계에서 브리콜라주의 조절효과를 검증한다. 선행연구 고찰을 통해 가설을 설정하고 중소벤처기업을 대상으로 수집된 229개의 표본을 이용하여 분석을 실시하였다. 가설 검증 결과, 균형 관점으로 측정된 양면성은 기업성과에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 브리콜라주는 그 관계에서 유의한 조절효과를 보이는 것으로 확인되었다. 이러한 결과는 중소벤처기업은 전략적 기업가정신을 추구하는 과정에서 탐험과 활용을 균형있게 추구하는 것이 성과를 높이는데 효과적이라는 점과 그 과정에서 브리콜라주가 높은 수준으로 확보된다면 더 높은 성과를 달성할 수 있음을 보여주고 있다. 이는 전략적 기업가정신을 추구하는 기업은 브리콜라주를 효과 적으로 강화하고 관리할 필요가 있음을 시사한다. 마지막으로 연구의 시사점, 한계점 및 향후 연구 방향이 논의된다.
