The world has been undergoing an unprecedented time of crisis since the outbreak of the Corona Virus 19 (COVID-19) pandemic. Among the notable changes brought by the pandemic are social distancing measures and stay-at-home directives, which have led to temporary closure of non-essential businesses as well as people working remotely in their homes. Moreover, increased numbers of the pandemic-themed phishing and fraud cases have been reported in different parts of the world. With the current work-at-home trend expected to continue, it is important to mitigate the threats posed by motivated offenders in cyberspace. Based on existing research evidence, this paper discusses strategies to prevent online victimization and protect business data during a pandemic.
