This study uses a multidimensional approach to reexamine the meaning of ‘prejudice’ from a biblical perspective. It aims to ascertain what kind of prejudice the participants in the Exodus held, what God’s will for them was, and why those who did not realize His will for them (entry into Canaan) were destined to fail in the wilderness. After the Exodus, God led the Israelites into the wilderness and He taught about ‘identity as God’s people’, ‘chastity and holiness’, ‘how to see with the eyes of faith’, ‘healing and rehabilitation’, and ‘God’s faithful fulfillment of the covenant’. However, the Israelites didn’t want to know about and learn God’s will for them, accordingly they ended up losing their inheritance. The Exodus is the prototype of God’s deliverance. As such, God’s way of leading His people could be clearly seen here, and from the Exodus we could also learn what the true faith of a true Christian is. It is hoped that through this study each individual would be able to see their reality as it appears in the eyes of God, that our anthropocentric prejudices could be shattered, and that the true Christian life and faith could be restored.

본 연구는 성경적 관점에서‘편견’의 의미를 재조명해보고 출애굽 백성들이 애굽땅에서 살며 어떤 편견을 지니게 되었는지, 그들을 향한 하나님의 의도는 어떠했는지, 또 하나님의 의도를 깨닫지 못한 그들이 광야에서 실패할 수밖에 없었던 이유가 무엇인지 다차원적으로 살펴보 는데 목적을 둔다. 하나님께서는 출애굽 후 광야에서‘그의 백성으로 서의 정체성’, ‘정결과 거룩’, ‘믿음의 눈으로 보는 법’, ‘치유와 회 복’,‘ 신실하게언약을성취하시는분’임을가르치셨다. 하지만이스라 엘 백성들은 끝끝내 그분의 의도를 알려고 하지 않았고 배우거나 빚어 지려고 하지 않아 유업을 상실했다. ‘구원’의 원형(prototype)이 되는 출애굽 사건을 통해 하나님께서 그의 백성을 어떻게 이끄시는지 선명 히 볼 수 있으며, 진정한 그리스도인의 참신앙이 무엇인지 배울 수 있 다. 본 연구를 통해 각 개인의 모습이 하나님의 관점에서 비추어져 내 면의 인본주의적인 편견이 깨트러지고 참 그리스도인다운 삶과 신앙이 회복되는 은혜가 경험되길 간절히 소망한다.
