This study explores the trends and characteristics of domestic Christian dance research through a comprehensive analysis of 140 Christian dance-related dissertations and academic journals published in Korea over 33 years, between 1987 and 2020. The purpose of this study is to provide future research direction and contribute toward research development. In the research area, Christian dance papers was examined in the order of history, work, and recognition, and in the research type, analytical research was examined the most. We identified 140 published articles on Christian dance research: 97 master’s degree theses, eight doctoral dissertations, and 35 academic papers. We found that the master’s thesis was published most frequently in 2011, the doctoral dissertation in 2008, and journal papers in 1997, 2010, and 2016. We also discovered that the most published research on Christian dance applied to master’s thesis, worship and recognition to doctoral dissertation, and history to journal papers. In addition, the study established that the master’s thesis, doctoral dissertation, and journal papers were published the most in the analysis, qualitative, and analysis research, respectively. There was no significant difference between a dissertation and a journal paper in the field of Christian dance research at the domestic level. This trend analysis is expected to contribute to the academic growth and development of domestic Christian dance research.

본 연구는 국내에서 기독교 무용 연구가 처음 발간된 1987년부터 2020년까지 33년간의 석·박사 학위 논문과 학술지 논문 140편 연구물의 동향과 특성을 종합적으로 분석하였다. 연구의 목적은 향후 기독교 무용 연구의 방향을 제시하고, 기독교 무용 발전에 기여하는 것이다. 첫째, 기독교 무용 논문의 연구영역별 현황 분석은 역 사, 작품, 인식 순으로 연구되었으며, 연구유형별 현황 분석은 분석연구가 가장 많이 연구되었다. 둘째, 기독교 무용 논문 수준에 따른 연도별 현황 분석은 총 140편이며, 석사학위 논문 97편, 박사학위 논문 8편, 학술지 논문 35편이 발간되었다. 또한, 석사학위 논문은 2011년, 박사학위 논문은 2008년, 학술지 논문은 1997년과 2010년과 2016년이 가장 많이 발간되었다. 셋째, 기독교 무용 논문 수준에 따른 연구영역별 현황 분석은 석 사학위 논문은 작품 영역, 박사학위 논문은 예배와 인식 영역, 학술지 논문은 역사영역이 가장 많이 발간되었 다. 넷째, 연구유형별 현황 분석은 석사학위 논문은 분석연구, 박사학위 논문은 질적연구, 학술지 논문은 분석 연구가 가장 많이 발간되었다. 다섯째, 기독교 무용 연구의 연구영역별 논문 수준 차이는 석·박사 학위 논문과 학술지 논문 간에 유의한 차이가 나타나지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 그러므로 본 연구는 국내 기독교 무용 연구 동향 분석을 통해 학문적 성장과 기독교 무용의 발전에 기여할 수 있을 것이다.
