Recently, crime in our society is causing social anxiety due to crimes of heinous crime and crime of not asking, and the professionalism of police is required due to intelligence, diversification, strongness, and ferocity of crime. In order to increase the responsiveness of such crimes, police scientific investigation and expertise should be supported. Therefore, this study conducted an empirical analysis to improve the professionalism of police scientific investigations, focusing on scientific investigators belonging to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency. According to the results of this study, scientific investigators have raised problems in the following fields to improve the expertise of scientific investigation. First, the weakening of expertise by the field of scientific investigation was the most concerned; second, the members of the organization questioned the fairness of personnel promotion. Third, the satisfaction of forensic equipment of the forensic investigator was somewhat positive, but it was not satisfied. Therefore, according to this study, it is analyzed that improvement is needed because education by field, fairness of personnel, and satisfaction of equipment can have a significant impact on professionalism.

최근 우리사회의 범죄는 흉악 범죄와 묻지마식 범죄로 사회불안을 야기하고 있으며, 또한 범죄의 지능화, 다양화, 강력화, 흉포화 등으로 경찰의 전문성이 요구되고 있다. 이러한 범죄의 대응력을 높이기 위해서는 경찰의 과학수사와 전 문성이 뒷받침되어야 한다. 따라서 본 연구는 서울지방경찰청 소속 과학수사관 들을 중심으로 경찰 과학수사의 전문성 향상을 위한 실증분석을 하였다. 본 이 연구 결과에 따르면 과학수사관들은 과학수사의 전문성 향상을 위해 다음과 같은 분야에서 문제점이 제기되었다. 첫째, 과학수사 분야별 교육에 따른 전문 성 약화를 가장 우려했다. 둘째, 조직구성원들이 내부 승진에 대한 공정성에 의 문을 제기했다. 셋째, 과학수사관의 감식 장비에 대한 만족도는 다소 긍정적이 었지만 크게 만족하지는 못하는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 이 연구에 의하면 과 학수사에 분야별 교육과 인사의 공정성 및 장비의 만족도가 전문성에 상당한 영향을 줄 수 있기 때문에 이에 대한 개선이 필요한 것으로 분석되었다.
