This study analyses certain problems resulting from the situation when a society demands victims to forget, forgive, and reconcile, with the unexpected or violent actions of the characters in the film . When the victims are forced to undergo “victimness”, they raise their voices to reach out to society. Society, however, would suppress the victims' voices by judging such behavior as a threat, after which the victims then attempt to make their voices even louder repeatedly. The film suggests a method to overcome this vicious cycle with discreet and elaborate cinematic grammar. I use the concepts of 'act' and 'acting out' from Lacanian psychoanalysis. Lacanian psychoanalysis can help us to understand the meaning of the destructive or enigmatic actions of traumatized victims. Moreover, it could be a useful perspective during the film as it attempts to propose a means by which to end an unbreakable cycle, that is, to contemplate the possibility that subjects can reset their own positions in an intersubjective structure.

이 연구는 사회가 희생자에게 망각, 용서, 화해를 강요할 때 발생하는 문제를 영화 <쓰리 빌보드>에 등 장하는 인물들의 돌발적이거나 폭력적인 행동, 그리고 이를 통해 형성되는 타자와의 관계를 통해 분석하 고자 한다. 피해자가 사회로부터 고통을 인정받지 못하고 ‘피해자다움’을 강요당할 때 피해자는 자신의 목소리가 전달되지 못했다 믿고 이를 다시 호소하기 위해 목소리를 높이게 된다. 그러나 사회는 이러한 목소리를 위협으로 간주하고 억누르려 하며 피하자는 억압을 벗어나기 위해 자신의 목소리를 더욱 높이 게 된다. 영화 <쓰리 빌보드>는 트라우마를 갖고 있는 인물과 타자와의 관계에 집중하면서 인물에 대한 깊이 있는 이해와 정교한 영화적 문법을 통해 이와 같은 악순환의 고리를 끊어낼 수 있는 길을 제시한 다. 이를 알아보기 위한 방법론으로 라캉주의 정신분석학에서의 ‘행위’와 ‘행동화’ 개념을 경유하고자 한 다. 이는 트라우마적 경험의 주체와 타자와의 관계, 그 관계를 바탕으로 표출하게 되는 이상행동, 그리고 상호주관적인 구조 안에서 근본적인 주체의 재설정을 가능케 함으로써 진정한 변화를 촉발할 가능성의 지점을 고찰하도록 도울 것이다.
