This study explored the influence of political broadcasting use in YouTube on citizens’ political efficacy, political talks and political participation. The result of study have shown that the use of political broadcasting in YouTube has a direct influence on citizens’ political efficacy, political talks and political participation. This result is a similar to social media research. In addition, a political efficacy have a mediating effect between the political broadcasts use in YouTube and political participation. This is related to the active user in YouTube. On the other hand, political talks is analyzed to have no intermediary effect between the political broadcasts use in YouTube and political participation. This study conducted empirical research on the political broadcasts use in YouTube based on the relationship between traditional media use and political socialization variables. It is meaningful in that it confirmed the influence of political broadcasts use in YouTube on the political process through the analysis of the relationship.

본 연구는 시민들의 정치대화, 정치효능감, 정치참여 변인과 새롭게 주목받 고 있는 정치 유튜브방송 이용과의 관계성에 대하여 살펴보았다. 연구결과, 정치 유튜브방송 이용은 정치대화, 정치효능감, 정치참여에 직접적 영향력을 갖는 것으로 파악되었다. 이는 기존 소셜미디어 연구와 유사성을 갖는 연구결 과이다. 또한, 정치효능감은 정치 유튜브방송 이용과 정치참여간의 매개효과 가 있는 것으로 조사되었다. 이는 정치 유튜브방송의 능동적 이용과 연관성을 지닌다고 볼 수 있다. 반면, 정치대화는 정치 유튜브방송 이용과 정치참여간 의 매개효과가 없는 것으로 분석되었으나 정치 유튜브방송 이용과 정치효능 감간의 매개효과를 갖는 것으로 파악되었다. 본 연구는 기존 미디어 이용과 정치사회화 변인간의 관계성을 바탕으로 유튜브 기반 정치영상에 대한 실증 연구를 실시하였으며, 관계성 분석을 통하여 정치 유튜브방송의 정치과정에 대한 영향력을 확인한 의미를 지닌다
