The purpose of this paper is to explore the ethics of Taoist philosophy through the virtue of care and tolerance. Gilligan's ethics of care values femininity as a care orientation represented by interconnectedness, interdependence, no harm, and harmonious relationships. Lao-tzu also values femininity and careful love, which is to unite the world and his own body. Noddings regards ‘care’ as the ultimate reality of life and values its natural response as "natural care." According to her, care works with Heidegger's ‘sorge’ and its core meaning. Taoist philosophy also emphasizes wholeness and interconnectedness, this is because they pursued a way of life that kept everyone intact. Fromm argues that academic Taoist or religious Taoism has reached tolerance for others who differ in thought and opinion. Tolerance is a generous embrace and a virtue of not excluding or arguing, and the virtue of tolerance in Taoist philosophy is particularly associated with virtue of not arguing and also associated with humility. Taoist's tolerance is not only a virtue of not arguing, but also an extremely generous embrace that does not rule out, which means supreme and infinite embrace.
