This study was designed to identify the experiences of conflicts related to Korean identity and strategies for overcoming them through the voices of migrant and naturalized youths who chose naturalization among middle-aged Koreans. Through this, we wanted to propose ways to help identify and resolve the Korean identity conflict. As a result of the study, migrant naturalized youths had various experiences in conflicts related to Korean identity, such as conflicts arising from the gap between personal and social standards, and conflicts arising from inclusion and exclusion, as well as conflicts caused by acquiring Korean nationality. In response, they were found to hide their identity or display coping measures situation by situation. Some of them accepted the reality and revealed their identity without worrying about consequences. Some others avoided "otherization" by not telling the truth. Still others are willing to help other naturalized youths who are in dilemma about whether to naturalize and dispense advice. In some cases, there are some naturalized young men and women who refuse to reveal the fact that they have naturalized and thus avoid demand for marriage of convenience from other unnaturalized partners. Based on the results of the study, the perception of national members by first as a way to prevent conflicts mainstream Koreans should be changed. Second, the inner circle should be strengthened so that immigrant background naturalized youths can recognize mainstream Koreans' perceptions in advance and firmly withstand discrimination and prejudice. Finally, it is proposed to establish an institution where migrant and naturalized youths can receive the minimum education needed to live in Korea.

본 연구는 중도입국청소년 중 귀화를 선택한 이주배경 귀화청소년의 목소리를 통해 한국인 정체성 관련 갈등 경험, 극복 전략을 파악하고자 하였다. 이를 통 해 한국인 정체성 갈등현상을 파악하고 갈등을 해소하는데 도움을 줄 수 있는 방안을 제안하고자 하였다. 연구결과, 이주배경 귀화청소년은 개인적 기준과 사회적 기준의 간극에서 오는 갈등이나, 포함과 배제에서 오는 갈등 등 다양한 한국인 정체성 관련 갈등 경험 을 가지고 있었고, 이 외에도 한국국적을 취득으로 인한 갈등이 있었다. 이에 대한 대응전략으로 이주배경 귀화청소년은 한국인임을 숨기거나 대상에 따라 상이한 방법을 사용하는 상황별 직면을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 현실을 있 는 그대로 받아들이고 행동화하여 자신의 존재를 알리는 전체 직면을 하는 경 우도 있으며, 거짓말을 통해 ‘타자화’를 회피하기도 하는 것으로 나타났다. 귀화 문제로 고민을 하는 이주배경청소년을 직접적으로 돕거나 조언을 해주겠 다는 지지적 관계 형성을 통한 대응과, 귀화 사실을 숨겨서 문화 갈등 및 위장 결혼 요구를 거부하는 등의 대응도 하는 것으로 나타났다. 연구결과를 바탕으로 제언하면, 먼저 갈등상황을 예방하기 위한 방법으로 주류 한국인이 갖고 있는 국가 구성원에 대한 인식을 변화시켜야 한다. 둘째, 이주배 경 귀화청소년들이 주류 한국인의 인식을 미리 인지하고 차별과 편견에도 굳건히 버티고 이겨낼 수 있도록 내면을 강화시켜야 한다. 마지막으로 이주배경 귀 화청소년이 한국에서 살기 위해 필요한 최소한의 교육을 받을 수 있는 기관 설립을 제안한다.
