In this study, I considered the use cases of the Suanbo Spa during the Joseon Dynasty and the location of Onjeongwon, which was a public facility for spa. The study on the suanbo spa has been organized to a certain extent through the annals of the Joseon Dynasty and various supports. But the section on the actual use cases of spa was not covered. Therefore, this article compiled examples of individuals' use of the suanbo spa from individual collections and records of the Joseon Dynasty I checked 18 cases of the actual use data from Yeonchangwi Ahn Maeng-dam(1453) of the 15th Century to Jeong Gi-hyeon and Lee Min-hyung(1871) of the 19th Century. And I looked at each case, separated by centuries. As a result, I was able to identify specific situations regarding the actual use cases of suanbo spa. I could also see the variety of uses and the growing popularity of suanbo spa in each period. By adding actual use cases in the theorem of the suanbo spa history, more empirical and concrete research could be carried out. Onjeongwon is a subject that has not been addressed in previous research. Onjeongwon, a public facility for the use of suanbo spa, was installed and operated continuously. But even that location remains out of the spotlight. Based on the records of “Sinjeung Dongguk Yeoji Seungnam” and “King Sejong's Treatise on Geography”, the locations and sizes were identified around compassion. And in its current location, which was surveyed in 1914, the 211 Oncheon-ri space was estimated to be the space. Recently the inn building in that space has been torn down and now 3/5 is shown as vacant. Verification work through excavation needs to take precedence. Suanbo spa are one of the most important places in Korea’s spa history. I hope to contribute to the more faithful description of the suanbo spa histroy. In addition, with the opening of a new suanbo-station on the Jungbu inland railway, I hope it will help the residents of the suanbo spa to reassess their own pride and values.

이 글은 조선시대 수안보온천의 실제 이용 사례와 온천의 공공시설이었던 온정원(溫井院)의 위치에 대해 고찰했다. 그간 수안보온천의 변천사에 관한 연구는 조선왕조실록, 각종 지지(地誌) 등을 통해 어느 정도 정리되었다. 그러나 온천의 실제 이용 사례에 대한 부분 은 다루어지지 않았다. 따라서 이 글에서는 개별 문집과 조선왕조실록 등의 기록에서 개인의 수안보온천 이용 사례를 찾아 정리하였다. 15세기(1453년) 연창위(延昌尉) 안맹담(安孟聃)을 시작으로 19세기(1871 년) 정기현(鄭岐鉉)과 이민형(李民亨)의 사례까지 18건의 자료를 확인했다. 세기 단위로 구분하여 각각의 사례를 살펴보았다. 그 결과 수안보온천의 실 제 이용 사례에 대한 구체적인 상황을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 시기별로 이용 목적의 다양성과 수안보온천의 명성이 점증되는 현상을 확인할 수 있었다. 수안보온천사의 정리에 있어서 실제 이용 사례를 추가함으로써 보다 실증적 이고 구체적인 연구가 진행될 수 있을 것이다. 온정원은 그간 연구에서 다루지 않았던 대상이다. 수안보온천의 이용에 있 어 공공시설인 온정원이 설치되어 지속적으로 운영되었다. 그러나 그 위치조 차 밝혀지지 않은 채 관심에서 멀어져 있다. <신증동국여지승람>과 <세종실 록지리지>의 기록을 근거로 하여 온정을 중심으로 위치와 규모를 확인했다. 그리고 그것의 현재 위치를 1914년에 측량된 <지적원도>에서 온천리 211번 지 공간이 가장 유력한 것으로 추정했다. 해당 공간의 여관 건물이 철거되어 현재 3/5이 공터로 드러나 있다. 발굴조사를 통한 확인 작업이 우선되어야 할 필요가 있다. 양질의 온천으로 우리나라 온천사에서도 중요한 곳 중의 하나가 수안보온 천이다. 수안보온천사의 보다 충실한 기술에 일조하기를 바란다. 또한 중부내 륙철도 수안보역 신설 개통을 앞두고 있는 시점에서 수안보온천 지역민 스스 로의 긍지와 가치 재평가에 도움이 되었으면 하는 바람이다.
