The objective of this article is to analyze current and future of history and culture data in Chungju. First of all, this introduced to history and culture data since the Goryeo Dynasty by each time period. Through these analyses, we could understand that the Chungju area is always at an inflection point in our history and played an important role. This also considered history and culture data by classifying the field and introduced academic application data conducted in relevant institutions all the while. Especially, Jungwon Cultre symposium of Yesung Culture Research was important example of academic application and was a living witness for the history of the Chungju area.

본고에서는 우선적으로 충주를 중심으로 한 역사문화자료를 고려시대 건 국을 기준으로 그 이후 것들을 주로 언급하여 살펴보았다. 그 방대한 역사문화자료 가운데 충주지역에서 중요하다고 생각되는 사건 을 특별히 발췌하여 그림으로 형상화한 기록화의 역사적 배경을 소개하였다. 이를 통해 충주지역이 우리 역사의 변곡점에 항상 등장하면서 중요한 역할을 했던 곳임을 알 수 있었다. 또한 충주의 역사문화자료를 분야별로 분류하여 고찰해보았으며, 그동안 관련 기관에서 진행된 학술적 활용에 대한 자료도 소개하였다. 특히 예성문화연구회의 중원문화학술대회가 비록 민간단체라고 하는 한계 를 가지고 있지만, 학술적 활용의 가장 오랜 예로서 이제까지 충주지역의 역 사를 지켜온 문화의 산증인이었음에 주목하였다.
