The poem by Seubzai(習齋) is a vast volume, 662 numbers, with 459 titles. He was a Confucian scholar armed with the Department of Seongliology and Chunchu Daeyi(春秋大義), and suffered a national crisis, leading to a two-story life of Munmu(文武), a medical officer representing the Chuncheon area. We can not simply refer poetry poetry to poetry resistance poetry or enlightenment poetry. However, when the country is in difficulty, it should be highly appreciated that it showed how to live as an intellectual of one era, and that the action of Zhonghua ideology based on the Chunchu Daeyi(春秋大義). His poetry, similar to Uiam's poetry, minimizes the lyric perspective through the friar and shows a long-drawn feature toward conveying ideas and thoughts through the narrative.

습재의 시는 459개의 제목에 662수(首)나 되는 방대한 양이다. 성리학과 춘추대 의로 무장된 유학자이면서 국난을 당해 춘천지역을 대표하는 의병장이라는 문무 (文武)의 두 층위의 삶을 살았다. 습재의 시를 단순하게 우국저항시(憂國抵抗詩) 나 계몽시로 단정할 수 없다. 그러나 나라가 어려움에 처했을 때 한 시대의 지성인 으로 어떻게 살아야 하는지를 보여준 측면을 높이 평가하고, 그리고 일관되게 춘추대의에 입각한 중화사상의 실천적 행동을 또한 시로 형상화 한 점을 높이 평가해야 한다. 그의 시는 의암(毅菴)의 시와 비슷하게 경물을 통한 서정(抒情)의 관점을 최소화하고 서사를 통한 관념과 사상을 전달하는 쪽으로 경도된 특징을 보여준다.
