Based on Darwin’s evolutionary theory, the aim of this paper is to provide a research model, which helps to examine key determinants influencingmultinational corporations’ decline in global markets. Thus, this is a conceptual paper. In order to achieve the objective, the author had a unstructured interview with 34 Korean professors, who actively research on multinational corporations and international business. As the result, four factors uncovered by the paper are uncertain political environments, CEO’s wrong strategic decision, inadequate human resource management, and inappropriate financial management. The author believes that this paper theoretically contributes to the overarching theory.

본 논문은 진화론을 이론적 기반으로 다국적기업의 쇠퇴에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 결정인자들을 실증할 수 있도록 연구모델을 제시하고자 하는 개념적 논문이다. 연구모델을 제시하기 위해 다국적기업과 국제경영에 대한 왕성한 연구 활동을 보이고 있는 한국 내 대학교수 34명을 비구조화 인터뷰(unstructured interview) 방법으로 면담하였으며, 그 결과 불확실한 대내외 정치 환경, CEO의 잘못된 전략적 의사결정, 부적절한 인사관 리, 부적절한 재무관리라는 네 가지 주요 요소를 도출하였다. 동 시도를 기초로, 본 논문은 진화론에 대한 이론적 기여를 도모하였다.
